General forum etiquette is to actually read a forum before you post in it.

Etiquette is irrelevant. It's subjective and shouldn't be used as an argument against peoples behaviour. In my opinion, of course.

But isn't speaking anything but English, against the rules? I can't say I remember the rules, hehe. Seems A22 doesn't mind speaking another language but English

It isn't a question of rules. Just a quick glance should tell anyone that this place is almost entirely in english, so it is a basic courtesy to at least just ask if anyone else speaks portugese first.
Using another language is fine, what isn't fine is showing no concern for being understood.

Would you go to a foreign country, walk into a bar, and start talking to the first people you see in english.

I agree with you. I still want to hold on to what I said about courtesy and etiquette being irrelevant and subjective.

I would, actually, yes. English is not my mother tongue and English is a very "global" language. Of course, if I could speak the language of the country I'm visiting, I would speak that language.
