The brain is a malleable neural network system. Connections can either grow or be pruned. This forms asymmetry's from the input programmed by the environment. These asymmetry's can lead to two extremes, hardening or atrophy. As the signals flow channels of least resistance are easiest to transform, to harden or atrophy. This leads to a new geometry of least resistance. This is also why natural selection molds species. The brain starts out soft and from the initial states imbued from conception to birth develops. This development can be rigid leading to death or flexible leading to reproduction. Humans have society to imprint the culture operating system where the individual is specialized for his roll in society. Some individuals imprint into society naturally. Other individuals develop free thought and constructed their own system of knowledge and give society new memes to imprint on.

Now as for meditation and IQ, intelligence has a mechanism. By practice this mechanism can be strengthened with the right sequences of practice. Knowledge not only increases but IQ increases. In a thread I made I allude to this. I was premature and bold to actually do this. But recently after meditation I was able to understand better, see more details in my vision, hear notes in music I was unaware of. Today I was watching my playlist of amv's and time slowed down. The motion was apparent and I could anticipate it. The reason this has happened is I now know that you need to observe and absorb stimulus without resistance. Now I will increase my observation to increase my IQ further.

Synchronized parallel processing, crystalized intelligence and fluid intelligence are in a feedback loop of lowering entropy (information compression) at high resolution then storage and working memory manipulation buffer.

Creativity is similar but as simulating of new ideas not just absorption and manipulation.

People who claim that IQ can increase can do one simple thing. DO an IQ test and then after one year retest and see if their IQ did increase. Most people that I know of never did increase thier IQ. Not more than 10points. If you increase an IQ above say 15 points thats already something to be considered.

I agree. It's easy to lower IQ by adding distractions. Having a clear mind would improve IQ.

TL;DR

My IQ varies by around 50 points depending on my mood. I have reached a point of debilitating cognitive dissonance before. Smoking pot lowers my IQ by about 15-20 points consistently. Being dehydrated is also a problem.

My music IQ has always been really low. I thought that I was tone deaf because I have a difficult time understanding speech as well. I have been able to improve by listening, and practicing my own speech. Dancing and letting go of ambitions puts you in that zone.

When I'm programming, it takes me an average of two hours to get into the zone. Once I'm there, I can get weeks of work done in a few hours. If I get distracted before the two hours, then I'm essentially crippled. Music helps me avoid distractions but I also have to balance other parts of my life.

Over the past 10 years or so of work, my IQ has gone up about 15-20 points on average. I have been planning on meditating to improve my focus. Also I quit smoking pot, and I have been working on accessing another layer of my brain.

I'm referring to a general sample IQ based on regular online IQ testing. It's not perfect so I try to take several versions of online tests to increase the sample size.

Honestly, I don't think that IQ is that important but it does give a general idea for me to benchmark. What is important is balance and well-roundedness. Once you understand one domain of thought, you can apply what you know to another domain. So understanding music will give you a better understanding of painting for example. At some point, you start to notice that nearly everything is similar in some way. Once you figure it out, your IQ goes up a tiny bit and you can move on to another domain.

Colors and Vision

I have a red-green color-blindness. I have actually managed to improve this slowly over time. I went from strong color-blindness to weak color-blindness.

My vision has improved by practicing dilating my eyes in and out of focus. If I stare up at a clear sky, I can see white specks that move around like a heating pattern. At first I thought it was a health issue, but I can see that they are moving in a way that suggests that it's either refractive light or internal.

There is a program called EyeQ that you can use to improve reading speeds by exercising the eyes. If you change fonts and put everything in columns, you can read without moving eyes side to side. You can take in a lot of information through visual osmosis.

3 Month Learning Curve

I have a 3 month learning curve for pretty much anything. If I spend more than 3 months on one topic, then my brain goes into atrophy. When I was younger, I would keep a job for 3 months, and then move to another job. I ended up working at 50 or so different places. With programming, I have to learn a new technology every 3 months. Now I'm at a point where I am learning from entirely different domains of thought just to keep my brain fresh. You can tell when you hit a wall and the information becomes boring. It's good to go back and refresh on topics every few years just to spark that part of the brain back up before it atrophies.

Basically, I exercise my brain in the same way that I exercise my body. Once you hit a plateau, you need to switch exercises or you're just putting your body in a state of atrophy. You can do 30 day cycles, and 3 month rotations to reach maximum growth potential. The correct mindset, nutrition, and focus will improve your strength and ability to grow.

I've been experimenting with intermittent fasting just now. Two days with less than 1000 kcals, 22 hours of fasting and i already forget the PIN for my banking account. Make more typos than usual. Have the greatest difficulty taking in meaning from spoken or written words. Burn my first meal on the stove. Human Growth Hormone, raised to 2000% after prolonged fasting, feels ecstatic, but it doesn't exactly raise IQ. I used to spend months and years in this undercarbed state. Fell for the Low-Carb Myth. Didn't notice how bad it was, because i lacked direct comparison. Blamed myself for miserable performance. Carb the fuck up.

I wish i could afford raw food. With raw food (fruit), you feel easy like when fasting but without being stupid. Much of what we eat makes us stupid, due to the gut becoming leaky for these things and shit entering the blood.

We have to include sensing, to attain and maintain an undivided state of mind, which is the goal of meditation!

Use your intuition
based on my experience understanding in exploring this area of things, many things such as intelligence, thinking, creativity perception, many functions we are conscious of doing work in systems (much of which are obtained from the environment) which can be optimised if you have an understanding of how they work. an "understanding" (generally superficial) can be separate from objective truth or "knowledge" and hinged on any connecting belief or belief systems which (regardless of what it entails) is a representation of a deeper intuitive understanding of such processes allowing for a solution. in other words, any belief you hold as truth can be used as a key for optimisation regardless of whether or not it's correct in the real world. this step can be skipped if you understand (through awareness) the way you communicate with yourself (the main irrational process at the root of all others) which in like passing information through a void. in reality understanding arises before perception (which is creation). understanding in whatever form comes from purpose whether it's secondary or tertiary etc etc. thus, if a perception already exists, many complex understanding can be accessed within instances whether received through arbitrary intuitions or whatever else. as you said depending an how much resistance there is determines how much information comes through. common language itself is a resistance. resistance is a manifestation of your intent.

I started drinking blended fruit smoothies daily because I couldn't stomach breakfast and wanted the calories. I try to consume as many calories as I can each day, and try to eat the most health forms that I can stomach. Blending it up makes it easier to consume more calories and you get optimal absorption.

It's expensive to eat healthy. It's cheap if you grow your own produce. Ideally, I would love to live on a ranch so that I could grow everything that I need.
