Don't know if this is classed as spamming, but I thought this might be of interest to the few Brits on the forum.

Apologies if it's a breach of some kind - feel free to remove. I have no personal interest/involvement in the festival (apart from thinking I might have to take annual leave to see everything I want to see!!)

I'm a bit of a sci- fi fan but I've never had any interest in going to any conventions. The crowds are huge and there's too many people dressed up as Mr Spock. To be honest these things are really only for lose-, I mean for very cool people with great personalities who do have lives contrary to popular opinion.

I might attend a few of these. I'm browsing the events now.

Didn't think it was a convention! Just a collection of film screenings ... I hope it isn't a convention ...

what takes your fancy?

The Star Trek and anime all nighters, plus the movie Naming Pluto. The movies/documentries Cryptic, Jeffrey and the Dinosaur, and She Cyborg seem intriguing too. I am also interested in these panels:

Dystopia - Are We Doomed?
Robots - Rise of the Machines
Space Colonisation - Home Sweet Home?
Building a Sci-fi/Fantasy World
Artifical Life - It's life, just not as we know it!

I'm thinking of Eraser Children,
Monsters from the ID
Blink of an Eye (I love short films)
Ever Since the World Ended
Cryptic
Idiots and Angels (clearly inspired by Peake's Mr Pye but not credited)
