Am I an INTP or and INFP?

After completing different personality tests, my results are almost always INTP( ISTP on rare occasions). I do have many INTP characteristics, but I think I have some INFP characteristics too.
I am a 21 year old female. I'm a Computer Science and Electrical Engineering major. Here are my hobbies and interests:

-Programming
-Computer Networking and Hacking
-Music. I play six instruments.
-Technology
-Aviation
-Painting
-Physics
-Math
-Chess, (Chinese)Checkers, Minesweeper and Video Games
-Poetry
-Reading
-Watching Basketball, Ice Hockey and any Extreme Sport
-Photography
-Classic Literature
-Linguistics
-Nature
-Animals
-Traveling

My conception of people is mostly negative. I simply don't like most people, but I don't hate humanity. I am very blunt, spontaneous and open-minded. I'm messy and disorganized. My former boss described me as very reserved, easy to get along with, calm and astute. People often tell me that I am funny but sarcastic. I've been told that I can be slightly mean, but I am generally nice. I've also been told that I am intimidating. People constantly tell/ask me to smile, and try to "cheer" me up. ;)

I can talk a lot if the topic is interesting. I have to be alone and independent to be happy. When I go to work or class, people tend to stare or question me because I can be strange. I make good grades, but I am a self-learner. I'm a good listener, but I am not an auditory learner. I'm always thinking, calculating or analyzing. Sometimes, I appear so dazed and detached that my current boss is "sure" that I smoke pot before work. I've only had two boyfriends and three friends in the past ten years.

I debate for fun. Sometimes, I would debate against someone I actually agree with. At the end of the debate, I would say, "I agreed with you all this time." It's just fun. My decisions are objective. If I realize that I am reasoning with a biased person, I end the conversation and get away as quickly as I can.

Anyways, what do guys think? INFP or INTP?

You stated a lot of stuff relating to INTP's. What are some of the reasons that you think you may be INFP?

I'd be curious to hear that as well. The list and description fits pretty well with INTP, especially the TP angle in terms of your freewheeling flexibility, and the devil's advocate thing sounds pretty NTP.

Hey, I think people can be infp and show mostly intp characteristics. There's just so many variables, the ones above that asserted with certainty are probably religious or something . Online Typology Resources thread and psychclassics.yorku.ca/jung/types.htm.

Also; based on your post we're alike, I hope u stick around and tell us more stuffs.

Hmmm, what INFP characteristics do I have? I'm not sure. I'm new to typology.

Lately, my co-workers tell me that I am "blunt but so sweet, quiet, optimistic and encouraging." I am supposedly always looking on the bright side. When people tell me such things, I don't know what to say. It surprises me. I only want to be honest. I never try to be encouraging. My own thoughts of most people are generally negative, but my words are encouraging? Also, I often participate in charity. There are some good people out there. Does that sound like an INFP?

I'm a bit of a prankster. I like to lock my co-workers out the room, bring silly string and other prank gags to work. I find ways to scare the crap out of them. Because of this, they call me "Sweet N' Sour" or "Sour Patch Girl."

By the way, I like my co-workers, but I don't like my job. With that being said, I try not to express my negative emotions at work. I find it unprofessional. So I think that my optimism and cheer could be a masquerade. Maybe, I'm trying to hide my true feelings?

OK, that's really all there is to say about myself.

INTP has Fe which means that whenever you talk to people you relate to their views (automatically). your desire for honesty applies both ways. INFP and INTP are 'honest' about their worldview, it just differs drastically.

i know INTP can be huuge pranksters (me&company mwahaha) but since I have no idea about the other types, this info is no help.

important for typing is not that you like/dislike humans/coworkers, but why do you like them

hiding emotions is very NTP-like. workplace is about competence, not sapstories, right?

but I don't hate humanity

hating humanity is not a prerequisite to 'join the club' or anything ;)

the biggest difference between INTP and INFP is dominance of Ti vs Fi
which I can reduce for you to 1 simple clear-cut choice:
- do you have a mental model of how the world works that you constantly build and change as you explore the world, and help people by giving them solutions derived from this model (Ti)
- or do you have a set of morals (ways to determine if something is good or bad, and how thing ought to be) that makes sence to you that you stick to (not change) and help others by suggesting how to act according to your morals (Fi)
