How strange is your train of thought

I recently became self conscious about my train of thought, and how weird it is. I start thinking about something and suddenly I find myself thinking about something else completely. Although my my train of thought had lead me from point A to C, and it made complete sense how the 2 are connected at the moment . What's even weirder about it is that when I snap out of thinking, I can't remember the original topic nor the last one. I get the same feeling as when i try to remember a dream. It's there but slightly out of reach. Does this happen to anyone else?
(sorry english isn't my 1st language)

My train of thought is often confounded by too many incoming variables which I have difficulty isolating once they enter my conscious mind.

The result of this is an 'intuitive' grasp of what I'm thinking but a supreme difficulty in organizing it. Written communication is most beneficial in this regard.

Yes, I recognize that pattern in a younger me. When I first became self-aware of my thought process, I was enthralled with the leaps of intuition. Yes, they can be dizzying. I've keep journals in which I capture some of the more interesting idea patterns. The more you self reflect, the easier it will be to remember and work with the melange. Writing things out helps in long-term retention by forcing you to impose order on the chaotic mind forms. I think of it as the slow cooling gestation after the initial heated conception.

One good way to see if your train of thought is really weird or not is to notice what you think is funny. Often times I have no idea why I am laughing, nor does anyone else, unless I think about the train of thought that lead me to think it was funny.. someone will say something and I will laugh even though it isn't supposed to be funny and then when I think about why I thought it was funny I realize it is often because of how I think that would be interpreted by another individual who also hears the comment. For example, I was with my parents and their friends and one of their friends was showing pictures of their vacation; this in itself I think is funny. But what made me laugh is that my mother (ENFJ) saw a picture of beautiful scenery and said enthusiastically with emotion... "Oh, lets plan a trip to go there Dan" (my father: ESFJ), and then I couldn't help but laughing because I know all it looks like to my father is that this means he has to spend more money on something he doesn't care about in order to please his wife. You may not think this is funny, but I thought it was hilarious. My point in telling this story is that I didn't know why it was funny until after I thought about it in logical steps. It happened so fast that I didn't know why I was laughing until after the fact.

Yes, the feeling of trying to remember a dream is a good analogy for retracing a train of thought. I can sometimes become irrationally frustrated at not being able to.

Question: would pernoctator even bother in posting in this thread if there was no known indication of an appeared discrepancy for accuracy.

I thought the thread not very unique so I decided to tell an amusing story as well as sharing a different outlook of the situation. Something pernoctator doesn't choose to acknowledge.

i'm so self-aware that my consciousness is self-conscious of my sub-consciousness which alerts my conscious mind that its aware of its consciousness.

perhaps i should reword that.

No, but I've observed that you rarely if at all contribute unless there is something to correct. Your avatar is very fitting. Its just a pattern I have come to identify. By posting on this forum you give certain information about yourself that is viewable to anyone who frequents the forum.

STFU over and over. He made an authentic point that was perfectly valuable to the context of the thread. You tried to make it about you. GTFO.

Don't get me wrong I am not disagreeing with his assessment I am just noticing the motive behind the comment.

For example, you typically comment trying to show your dominance in one form or another. Often times this comes across as rude and/or angry.

These are your preconceptions of other posters. None of it is objective reality. I made about 3 drunk posts last night before bed and that^ was one of them.

Nothing really, but just to be fair I'll do myself too. If I had to identify how other poster view me I think they would observe I don't have many interesting/profound things to say and that I am horrible at using the English language.

Most people don't really think too much about how others post, what they post about and why they post in the way they do; most people don't care as much about what others say as much as they care about what they say. People in general don't notice when an insightful comment is said and are generally too wrapped up in their self to notice others' behaviors and/or actions; they just go along with whatever everyone else does. This can be associated loosely with what most peoples' train of thought focuses on and how the common consensus usually dictates what the majority of people do.

Or maybe, just maybe, you actually aren't posting things that are insightful nearly as frequently as you seem to think.

I'm observing that you need explicit feedback from others to validate the worth of what you say.

I think I've noticed a thing that can happen sometimes, via some type of introspection you can laugh or find something funny while at the same time someone is telling a story or some action is being performed.. Then it might look like you laughed at their story or what happened to someone or what they did, but you were supposedly laughing at something else, however it could make sense why you might find whatever happened to have a humorous aspect to it.. Sometimes it can sort of just work out either way but sometimes, if I'm not mistaking, you can be near something where laughing isn't necessarily appropriate or can easily be considered rude.

You exhibit signs of paranoia. If you cross 1000 posts, quick twist, that which you fear will be made a reality.
