Just curious how you all do it. Do you read every post? Read every post in a particular forum? Read everything in your subscribed threads, and occasionally post elsewhere to keep things going?

As for me, I read (or at least skim) it all. Click on "New Posts" every so often, come up from the bottom, opening ~5 tabs at a time. One disadvantage of this is rapid-fire conversations happen less often, because as soon as anyone replies to me, the thread is at the end of my reading queue. On the other hand, I get things read faster this way. <shrug>

It's all very exciting, amirite

You can subscribe to threads?
I pretty much just click randomly and occasionally glance over at the 'Latest Posts' thing.

Bold move giving this thread a thumbs up from the get go..we'll see if your prediction holds true, ya?

Subscribed threads with new posts are the ones that are listed on your control panel. Subscribed threads are marked with a little

.

There's options someone in the control panel for controlling what the deal is with subscribed threads, but you subscribe to a thread by either posting in it or by saying so in the "thread tools" menu up there.

I'm subscribed to every thread I post in and I get instant email notifications on every new post. I browse for new threads to join in once the ones I'm subscribed to start dying down. Same system I use for all the forums I'm on :smoker:

1. subscribed threads in my user control panel
2. new posts
3. quick links > mark forums read when I'm done clearing the list for next time

I do the same thing on every forum that offers these options.

I only click on new posts.
Really ineffective idea of mine since I then seem to miss quite a few new posts and replied to things I've posted and general conversation.

Someday when I remember I do plan to subscribe to a thread or two..... but not right now.

I am automatically subscribed to every thread i posted in. Then i always just click "New Posts" and i can see which threads are ones i posted in (by that little icon Nicholas linked above). Nowadays i mostly only read the threads i subscribed in but i always skim the other thread titles to see if i see something that catches my fancy.
