How do you beat the heat?

I prefer using a stick, or a large cast iron pan.

it's really hot right now (where i am at least) and i wondered, how do my intp brethren beat the heat? in all seriousness I use a large industrial fan, cold drinks and mind altering drugs.

Give into it. Forget you even have the ability to tell the temp.
A wet cloth over the head and covering the neck is also nice. I used to do that when I did roofing. Add a fan to it and you'll be golden.

Eat light, cooling foods. Stay away from meat, cheese, and heavy, oily, dishes. Small amounts of hot spices can actually make you cooler paradoxically because you end up vasodilating/sweating and radiate heat more efficiently. Fruit is ideal, as is moderate amounts of salad. Cucumber with a yogurt dip and some pita bread can be a satisfying dish on a really hot day for lunch. Take a page (or several) from traditional summer dishes made in the middle east or India.

I usually have safe-houses in each city, memorized all the safest routes and have a wide variety of disguises at the ready.

Just turn on the AC or get drunk.

Or, when I didn't have AC, I'd to fill my freezer with icepacks, then take them out, put them all in my closet, and I'd line the closet with whatever styrofoam I had and I'd sit in there until I had to go back outside again. If you have a car, you can sit in there with the AC on too.
