Hello INTP-lings!

Hi!

My name is x, I'm an INTP (which, since I haven't really read most of this site, I'm going to assume is most of you). I recently graduated with a degree in math from a hippie school in northern California (It has the same name as a famous Bishop who doubted Isaac Newton), I have 3/4" plugs, my favorite class in jr. high was woodshop, and I think Breaking Bad, Firefly, and Cowboy Bebop should be ran on basic cable 24/7.

Oh! I'm learning to play Chess. Some Jamaican guy in the park with a tam and dreadlocks taught me how to play when I was really young. He always went "Ya mon" and smelled like incense, but for some reason I never took it up. I feel like I missed out.

You would get that impression from the southside, which is predominantly asian. However, the north side of campus is extremely hippie, especially the student co-op system. Telegraph has more tie-dye clothing than a Grateful Dead concert, and the city puts out smog alerts every April 20th. I don't understand where you're coming from at all on this

Hey man. I also play chess, I began to play seriously this year. What would you say your rating is? I'm about 1400-1600, and will continue to improve. Should I watch cowboy bebop? Is it as good as Code Geass or Death Note? Trigun?

I have no idea, but from playing Fritz 13 I'm getting trounced. Cowboy Bebop is like Trigun, but more serious. Both are set in wild west settings, but Cowboy Bebop has spaceships and places that aren't desolate wastelands.

I've gotten the Spike Spiegel thing before. I think I looked much more like him in my avatar than after I layered my hair so it isn't poofy.

I'm pretty confident. With hair like mine its always like a Laurel commercial.

Hah! I guess I could be considered a troll, though I do it all in name of good causes. I have a (trollish political party), Plugs Uber Alles, where the master race of stretched ear humans will have a manifesto detailing our plans to take over the world. I also am planning to start a marketing company with some non-kosher tactics for attracting customers.

I just played the ~900 computer and beat it on Chess.com. Fritz 13, from what I read, is horrible for a beginner to play and try to rank himself. I'll go for the next highest level computer, which I think is a thousand-something.

I'm going to take a nap then play. I was at 1400 but lost twice in a row because I made stupid mistakes I lost a bishop that was critical to my defense in one game, and it totally ruined my hold on the center. Gah! The guy was always one bishop ahead, until end game when he still was one critical piece ahead.

I think I need to train before I get trounced :P I'm getting pwned.

@DeadonDreaming Definitely less than a year, to the point I'm at now anyway. I plan to continue improving myself as well.

I recommend doing chess tactics. There is a website called Chesstempo (type it in on Google) which gives unlimited chess tactic exercises, which will improve your game tremendously.
