Although, some weed makes me stupid and lazy.
Carl Sagan would supposedly write his highdeas down so he could remember the next day but most if not all were relevant/applicable.This is a fun question, Me and best friend who is also a thinker used to smoke a good bit when we were younger(18) and had our own apartment. We used to come up with all of these awesome ideas when we were high, but we would be so high that we would forget our ideas the next day. So we would start to write our ideas down as we were high so we wouldnt forget them, then the next day we looked at them and realised how bad these ideas were.
Nope. I've seen zero evidence, either anecdotally, clinically or personally, that mind altering substances enhance the ability for original thought. I've found the opposite actually.
Aren't endorphins mind altering drugs?
I certainly would smoke endorphins if it were made available.
OT:
Pot would make me want to play Halo poorly all day.
Finding alternative solutions sounds like work. If I have work to do I don't smoke pot. It's really irritating fighting through the fog.

If I have an afternoon of nothing on my plate I smoke and enjoy the different perspective an altered state provides.
Like Lot, it's a giggly, laid back, munchy kind of altered state. It's not conducive to much productiveness. Even of the thinking sort...especially the thinking sort.
One of the reasons it causes these side effects is because it's actively promoting hippocampal neurogenesis, which is why it works as a treatment for PTSD. It's actually the alcohol that gets you.Yeah pot inhibits you in all sorts of ways, particularly attention, memory and learning ability [1].
Architect, of course you have. People with issues do drugs a lot more than people without issues and so it is that society is permeated with anti-drug stigma.
You dont notice the people who use relatively harmless non-addictive substances who dont fuck up.
In Sweden this stigma has reached ridiculous proportions.
Oh so you are suicidal, have always felt out of place, suffer from severe anxiety.. Lets see what did your childhood look like? Oh wait! It says here that the last 6 months you've been occasionally smoking weed! Well there we have it! Please stop immediately and give us regular urine samples for 5 months then if you still have issues maybe we can help you, but right now I'm afraid we can do nothing as you've sullied your mind with this devilish substance!"=very common occurance
Well do you?

I have made some headway into understanding nothingness and it's application to possible parallel universes, but not in a coherent mathematical sense.
Other than that, I use it for mere enjoyment. The best way to find an alternate solution(most times) is to utilise one's imagination coupled with one's rationality.
Mind-altering drugs are rarely the answer to finding actual solutions, although it is how the structure of DNA was divined.
Oh, welcome to the forum.
"...you've sullied your mind with this devilish substance!"
