What is it you ask? DayZ is a Multiplayer Zombie survival mod built on the ARMA II engine. It's Still in alpha, and buggy as hell, but thus far the most intense experience I can remember in gaming. it's incredibly brutal.

You start out with a backpack, a bandage, and a flashlight. that's about it. finding a gun, food, water, med supplies, etc. is up to you. But the thing is, the moment you gain even some of these things, you make yourself a target.

Found a few cans of beans and a better backpack? That other player over there with the axe wants them. Did you make it out of the city alive after looting the hospital? too bad there's a guy on the ridge with a high-powered rifle. he's been watching you for the past 20 minutes, waiting for you to move to an area where he can safely recover the meds from your corpse. Manage to pick up an automatic rifle? I'm sure the team of 4 taking up positions around your building won't mind loosing a man or two for that kind of firepower.

This is in my opinion the best zombie game I've ever played. it actually plays like an apocalypse. The amount of paranoia is crazy! In many parts of the servers, players will shoot others on sight, regardless of whether the other is even armed. Zombies can be little more than an inconvenience at times, but never discount them entirely; one lucky hit can break your leg, and if you don't have morphine you're basically fucked.

I'd post a video link, but I'm at work, and youtube is blocked. anyone else here try or hear of this fantastic mod? any questions for a fellow INTP who's been playing for a few weeks?

that's not fair. people trained in this game will have too much survival advantage, when the actual zombie apocalypse hits us. besides, they will act like forming alliances is against the rules. just what we need.

Apparently it's become too popular (no, no a hipster talk) and it's flooded the servers with too many people. This is just hearsay though...
