Hello, I am new to the forum!

I like to believe I am intelligent but often I've been told the contrary. School for me was a nightmare, I would get half way through a course and get 90% then experience a downward spiral, to the point in witch I might have ruined by education. I understood the theory, in fact everything I did in highschool seemed mediocre. I would just begin to lag kinda, I would begin to dislike the teacher, my friends, my parents. I eventually begin to skip school, because I fall behind and give up. This happened OVER and OVER again, course after course. Now I'm in a very bad situation. I don't know if I can fix this or not.

My IQ is slightly above average, and my teachers are dumbfounded. I haven't been classified with a disability however according to their reports I have characteristics of aspergers

My question, What did I do wrong? Am I the only one with this issue?

Thank you

Go see a doctor?

There might be a psychological or neurological cause. (Or both).

Can you pinpoint more specifically what the problems are?
Why exactly are you lagging behind?

Are teachers the ones saying you have traits of asperger? It sounds weird that they would even suggest such while at work as they are nowhere near being competent at diagnosing. They should at least recommend you to go to a doctor, get a referral to neuropsychologist or whatever if they were going to bring it up at all.

Well, if you manage to pinpoint more what your issues are and what aspects you have difficulty at school and in private, you can write a list, take it to a doctor who hopefully will take you seriously and you can work from there.

Its with everything, its systemic. However like I said before I know what to do, I do very well until I crash.

Also the asperger diagnosis was done by a school physiologist when I was small, maybe 6-7.

I should also mention, I have loved courses that ended up the same way, it doesn't seem to be particularly effecting courses I dislike.

I'm in exactly same situation.
Very short: fuck them and do what you really want. Then you won't fail.

IF the problem is recurring and you have trouble getting established in the society then seeing a psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, neurologist would help to define and find the causes and possibly create the strategy for recovery.

Describing why after getting along the schedule you would "suddenly" lag and drop to the specialists will be an important task.

Are you managing your life at the moment? Can you earn money, wake up reguralry?

Some possible issues ahead, I am mainly worried about the part where you dislike the people and even your parents as a possible cause of your lagging, a more in-depth description would be necessary, considering your input I could speculate on one of these: SAD, AvPD, bipolar disorder , dysthymia, impulsive/mood disorders.

I'm still living with my parents, I'm Seventeen so its not abnormal, I have a photography pastime that I intend to professionalise eventually, I however have experienced difficulty managing larger photography jobs, its hugely stressful, I hope that I will get better at it in time. I noticed in photography that I haven't experienced depression, even after failure. That's why I stick with it. (That avatar is a shot I took of myself) Creepy yes.

I dislike each group for a specific reason, my parents are a constant reflection of what I don't want to be. In essence they don't have a wide horizon, they don't see ahead of past our green lawn. In my courses I found that many teachers *not all* didn't have substance in their teachings. Our school system in my country *Canada* has limitations because they lack a proper funding and they use one teacher for three different classes when he's only specialised for one of them. This often leads to unenthusiastic overworked teachers.

Let me tell you that failing to finish high school, if that is what you describe in your first post, is abnormal. Most people finish the high school and you seem to have more than one failed attempt.

It may be your personality, your goals and ideas, it may be that there is a problem behind it. You have all the information necessary to decide whether this affects you severely or only in some instances.

Sorry, how does one fail high school more then one time when they are 17? I mean usually high school is over by the age of seventeen or eighteen. Its physically impossible for me to have tried multiple times. Currently I'm enrolled in course recovery, I just don't know what's exactly wrong, because I don't see why I get depressed. I thought Maybe there was a correlation with INTP *Witch I identify as*

You could have started the education earlier for example, I don't know the education system in your country, the lenght of corresponding schools etc.

There is no correlation of failure and INTP, or lagging and INTP to the point where you fail something you had or wanted to do, that I know of.

There are some ideas, studies and links that suggest IN personalities to be more likely to develop mental disorders, to have problems adapting to the society, within a healthy margin, etc. It is a thin line and it is a personal choice to start the recovery or dismiss the idea.

There are no sufficient scientific and reliable links of MBTI and health or healthy behavioural patterns that would make one rely on MBTI to decide whether something is within the norm. It is nice to find some friends or as a topic for conversation.

Given how this happened once, I wouldn't treat it as seriously as if it was a constant issue for you with most vital tasks.

Our school system is rather hard to explain. I would like to see a professional, I'm just unsure if my doctor will take me seriously, I told him about my social behaviours and he gave me pills. I found that medications are more of a band aid rather then a fix, I guess there isn't a fix. I kinda asked for a physiologist and he kinda shrugged it off.

I have had similar problems to you in the past. I consider myself to be of above-average intelligence, and I have never had any problems with school as far as comprehension goes. Quite to the contrary, in fact, I spend most of my time at home learning online. Despite this I can get into these loops of procrastination, self criticism and anxiety, in which my life essentially grinds to a halt. The worst part was that it seemed like I couldn't really do anything about it, and that I was doomed to repeat the past, no matter what I committed to in the moment.

You might want to consider keeping a journal of some sort to keep track of your state of mind, so you can attempt to catch yourself when you see yourself slipping, and the causes of these slips if they do happen.
The more information you have, the better. It really helps put things in perspective when you have an idea of what is actually going on.

Nothing to do with intelligence.
I think I am a failure all the time.
And no, I don't like talking to people about my problems.
I just hope nobody becomes like me.
