My mom kind of dated him for a very short time in the 70s. He sounds like a real creep to me.
She met him at a robotics convention, at the time she was Dr. Jacob Tal's assistant and really into the concept of A.I. He chatted it up with her and told her about a conference at Stanford on A.I. that he had an exclusive invite to attend. He asked her to be his date to the conference, but said that she had to spend the night with him beforehand. She was put off by this, since she had just met him. She said to call her later and set up a date. Apparently he called for days trying to get with her. Eventually she consented to meet him at a restaurant, but he stood her up. She waited for him for an hour, then left, only to see him at a cafe across the street laughing his head off as he watched her.
It was partly her fault that she didn't just tell him she didn't want to sleep with him. Still though, he was a jerk about the whole thing.

That's certainly going out of his way to get revenge.
Other than that, I find it odd to ask that she'd have sex with him before going to that convention. Guess it's a way of getting laid without being charming, eh?
Anyway, I've heard that he was a bit crazy in his 20s, with all those police visits and all.
I've also heard that he would ask the GPA before dating someone, though not sure how much truth is in that. I remember someone from the class telling me this...
