Hello all, and greetings from Denmark
Im a man at the tender age of 26, who recently developed a great intrest in personality types.
The initial tests revealed that im INTP, but I have come to the conclusion that im more of a INTJ at work. I guess I have learned to supress my own need to "over"-think everything

I should note that I work as a soldier, or more [SIZE=-1]specifically a sergeant going to Officers scool soon. In that environment you have to make quick decisions and generally stop thinking when you have reached a suitable sollution.

In my personal life though, I am more or less pure INTP, to the point of sometimes feeling detached from the world.

My life so far has offered me a Collage degree, A degree in Computer Science, and a lot of time spent on teaching Martial Arts (Hapkido)

I can definitely sympathize, my time in the military was the same way. It actually helped me a lot in learning how to stop myself from procrastinating.

INTPs and INTJs are very different animals. I think what you mean is that at work you exhibit more judging behavior, but that's because your dominant introverted thinking is strictly regulating your extraverted output. You haven't changed personalities because trust me... an INTJ does not look like you do at work. They have a whole different set of things to adapt to (such as being adaptable).

Your four letter code is just a representation of what the theory actually suggests in your personality, so don't let single letter differences trick you with their seeming similarity. I promise I'll upload a FAQ soon that will help take internet test based understanding of the MBTI to the actual Jungian based theory. Its worth looking into as I think its a brilliantly simple and inclusive theory that allows for a great deal of diversity within type without dulling its insightfulness and specificity.

Ah, Pilgrim! My thoughts exactly! That's why I'm here. Been here for 2 days and it's the most enlightening thing; checking my out personality from the outside is a perspective I find both entertaining and I feel like a sponge! And I pull it all apart in my head and put it back together and it's... exhilerating!!!!! And I don't feel so inept in my own behaviors because we are all like this!!! Start with yourself and work outwards- pegging others is even better and increases your own self knowledge. Have fun and welcome!!

Yeah, a friend of mine sent me one of those "forwards" with a ton of the
de-motivational stuff on them- I loved it a year ago, and I love it still! I found it in my emails and attached. I can send it to you if you want. It's just so true!
