Black Rose
An unbreakable bond
This is a bit confusing: see the bottom for a clean summary.
My first two examples are Adora and Catra. I mark them as the contrast between the opposites of Extraversion and Introversion, but they share all four of the same functions.
Extraverted Sensing happens to be more controlled by the frontal lobes, as in stationary inhibition of action from front to back. Introverted Intuition has the position of this control side to side. The difference neurologically is the attainment of actions. The amygdala when taking in stimuli can be passive. But when actions are needed the front of the brain becomes involved. So Adora is passively using the senses and the amygdala and Catra is actively using them (extraverted thinking). Introverted Intuition is learning to balance the roles of the two sides when learning to act in the world.
Next, we have Hinata from the Anime Naruto. Adora and Catra have the amygdala as a service to some form of action (observation or planning). Hinata has it in service to inaction, not the inaction of doing nothing but Introverted Thinking requires her to use the frontal lobes differently. That way being thoughts and internal sensations. She has Introverted Sensing as the first function. Anything she does will go directly from the body to the amygdala. Not from looking outside Se and not from Ni positioning of one relation to an action. She has thoughts and they connect to what she senses inside herself. That is the autonomic nervous system.
The other person to mention is Sakura Haruno. She is ISTJ - Her actions and body are connected most of all, whereas Hinata will directly have thoughts that connect to the body. Both have good "chakra control". The only difference is that to calm the body (Si) the amygdala must be calmed. So in ISTJs, the action of Te will make them have very intense emotions connected to bodily action. It is Fe that calms the body when engaged with actions of the ISFJ such as Hinata.
Last to mention is the ISTP - They both passively observe and have thoughts all the time. The reverse is the INFJ - they are the ones who act the least because they are balancing themselves and calming their emotions at the same time.
-
To make things clear.
Ni is balancing brainwaves side to side. Se is passively observing and listening.
This can either do actions with Te which make emotion intense, or calm emotions and lead to many thoughts.
Si is about feeling the heartbeat the lungs and all the organs.
This is with actions and intense emotions or with calm emotions and many thoughts.
Ne - was not mentioned with examples.
Ne gets many emotions from ideas/connections it comes up with.
Ne can make many thoughts with calm emotions as a result.
I have not thought of a model for how the brain generates Ne
The main takeaway is the frontal lobes control where introversion and extraversion wind up.
They direct the calming or intensity of the amygdala, whether thinking is active or passive.
