I was into disco as a 7-8 year old along power metal. Now that I listen to it is extremely hedonistic. born to kill even mystical. Your old avatar?

i suspect it is a childhood thing for me too. i was in love with "boys boys boys" by sabrina as a kid but it took me a while to stumble upon italo disco again and later identify that particular track. i think i was 18 when i began deliberately exploring the genre.

i don't hear hedonistic. elaboration on that would be interesting!

yes, old avatar.

Hedonism + Esoterism/Misticism:
Lyrics:
Give me the night
Come on seduce my body
Turn down the light
Can't wait anymore

Don't try to fight
You know it feels like heaven
Just relax and
Let yourself go

You bring me joy
It's like a magic potion
Hey, don't be shy
Come love me tonight

Need your passion
Need your love
My obsession is making it tough
To live without your body next to mine

Need your passion
Need control
Sweet possession of your soul
The voodoo that you do is magic dejavu
Were you also into general dance or techno? I used to like groove coverage and cheapest folky techno or some splittercore.
Considering 11 year break i remember some of the lyrics ;):

I also used to listen to techno similar to this :

yes, i see. for me the innocence and marvel overrides the hedonism. it's all very tidy and proper. no explicit mentions of sex. but your opinion is of course valid :)

yes, i'm into a lot of psytrance, a bit of techno and some eurodance/hardstyle - especially when it clearly references italo; romanian eurodance in particular is most excellent in this regard.

groove coverage is not my cup of tea. but i associate to cascada, who performed "everytime we touch" which is a nice little tune. apparently it was co-written by maggie reilly, who also collaborated with mark oldfield making such wonderful, proto-eurodance gems as "moonlight shadow" (covered and dance-infused by groove coverage) and "to france".

off to listen your tracks now. EDIT: haha speaking of "moonlight shadow" :D

a curious thing, our different perspectives on the temporal dynamics of cultural preference :P. myself, i'm always accumulating, never abandoning what's once been discovered and integrated. so your past tense talk is very foreign to me. i wonder how this polarity could be described in typology terms.

it's a question of expansion and conquest versus adaption in a way - but it's also a question of nostalgia and loyalty versus cold utility and progress. kinda paradoxical, no?

i can't help but relate this conundrum to male/female and become even more perplexed.

delight.

I don't break myself from the past. However now that i listen to some ultratone or splittercore i turn the volume to 1% and experience a mild headache :). I still enjoy some terrorcore but that's because I hear a decent melody there and nice ultraviolence.

Disregarding my post, you are right there is a duality of conquest and adaptation in many things, including searching for music.
