Thank you very much for your Suggestion

I will sleep on it and then decide. According to one of the theories (probably thought up by a Hawk INTJ) the Eagle (INTP) is meant to wake up thinking that the suggestions was his own and going along with it.

I think the Hawks and Wolves (ENTJ) had better keep to their illusions. On this forum, it is safe to say, that this has never happened. One what may happen is that I have already thought up the idea (e.g. shagging the landlord's mistress) and then somebody comes along and gives me encouragement, and lo and behold, I'll do what I had originally decided, get out of the way fast as I know I will get poisoned. The first decision was intuition and the second (same one) was rational thinking. Clytemnestra for the Greeks. But then I am really a XNXP, not resolute enough to fall for the rational way.

That's the point, man! He's messing with us! :D

-Thinking Introspectively-

I think something in the OP may have been offensive to me, But I'm not sure which part or why. :phear:

yeah, there was kind of an anti-semetic vibe to it. i can't explain it, its just a vibe.

The INTP resists and rejects anything that doesn't support their own experiential understanding of the world. If they perceive that something is not logical, they reject it as unimportant. Does that ring a bell?

It is healthy to choose your paths and goals in life so that they coincide with what you find rewarding, and what you're really good at. However, it sometimes happens that we take this approach a bit too far and sacrifice an accurate and objective understanding of the world for a more narrow vision that is easier and comfortable for us to deal with. The INTP affects this problem when they stop taking in information in a truly objective sense, and instead only take in information that can be worked through logically.
http://www.personalitypage.com/INTP_per.html

The INTP who suffers from diminished use of Extraverted Intuition is likely to be very cutting and derisive towards people who express disagreement with the INTP.

Get yourselves a Gorgon head! Not only will they turn Perseus into stone, but they'll help you deal with the riddles of oracles! They're favored by Athena, who doesn't like that?

Come on, a nice Gorgon head: Medusa, Stheno, Euryale. These two are more expensive, but it sure is worth it.

i think that Unicorns and Possums have it in for the Munchkins. they're very sneaky, like the Aardvarks. but if you don't watch out for the Leprechaun, they'll betray you like a Penguin. i've known several Zebras, but i think they might have been Baboons in disguise. i've always gotten along with the Komodo Dragons, but thats because i sometimes act like a withdrawn Dingo. perhaps my Otter mom and Sperm Whale father had something to do with my acting like Plankton during social situations. it always seems to be with Dolphins and Skunks that i can act like my normal Deer Tick self.

I agree. However, as you said yourself "the INTP who suffers from diminished Ne" may not be as open-minded, but this is not an initial trait that is applicable to all INTPs. I happen to be an INTP who uses Ne very freely (which explains all my crazy theories that I keep presenting) and hardly ever completely dismiss anyone's opinion.

Also, often times INTPs will seem to reject information contrary to them as a form of debate-to-learn method. Truly they are open-minded on the inside, but just "play the part" of stubborn-to their-ways to better consider those arguments that may oppose it - hence acquiring more data.

@AI: My stomach hurts from laughing, you mean Deer Tick you.

@Perseus: The scary bit is that we're actually connecting over this Medusa stuff.

And I'll concede that mirrors are more than regular talismans.

Point taken. I use this all the time.

Eccentric: not guilty. You may say I have a Schizotypal Disorder, but I have renamed this the Information Deficit Disorder, so cough up the facts and don't keep stum. The Guardians like to own facts, especially ones that are secret. If pressed they may try the Erewhon trick, and everybody knows that one!

OK. Seriously, Perseus you're an intriguing presence here. I feel like your posts would make sense if only I had the proper key, but no one here seems to have the key. I'm fascinated by the fact that you seem unphased by anything anyone says here in regards to your posts. Give us a frame of reference. I'd really like to know more of your story. Allow us to pick your brain apart. ;)

I will have to write a book. Dragons are there ...... on the edge of the known world.
It may have a certain resemblance to Terry Pratchett, but I have not read any of his books.

e.g. Dragons are in Terry Pratchett. And Guards.

Ceremonies of the Horseman in Love Minus Zero/No Limit by Bob Dylan, the Psi Corps are in Babylon 5, the Great Bear Cafe is in Sweet Thursday by John Steinbech, Cassandra is in the Greek parables/myths ..... just a very high Perception score. A medium Thinking score is all that is required, and probably a High Intuition score as well. The animals are my invention, but I am sure that I have re-invented the wheel.

The NPs the opposite of the Guards, SJ.

The Fascists probably use the game for evil ends. I would be a counter-agent to those Black Guard bastards.

Although, I do not call it this. As a scientist, the detached position on the Millon Spinning Top is my existential position. This is Avoidant/Schizotypal/Schizoid. We furnish the information and then the politicians make a pig's ear of it all.

In social events, I may change to other existential positions, like sociable, narcissist, as circumstances dictate.

Ok. This is interesting. Are you able to switch positions at will? If so, is there a position that might help us interact with you easier? If not, is there anything we can do to aid us in understanding a bit better?

yeah, really. can you speak more clearly to us? you seem to be talking in ideas you have for things in your own head and none of us know what to make of any of it. it all seems so random and strange. and not just the animals, but the content of your posts seem very in-coherent.

I've always assumed that he was just presenting an online persona of some sort, maybe even doing this as a joke, but I'm wondering if this really is the way he communicates. That link about Schizotypal personality disorder explains why he might communicate this way. I have never heard of it before, and know nothing about it. If he can't help but communicate in this fashion then, I for one, will make more of an effort to understand.

On the other hand, maybe he is laughing his ass off at me right now.

To simplify, I have been trying to find the web page which said, the way to get an INTP to agree with you is to suggest an idea, and then let the INTP sleep on it and tommorrow the INTP will think the idea was his own and act on it.

I do NOT believe this theory for a number of reasons. The INTP does not tend to steal ideas verbatin. It is too boring for a start. This is Narc behaviour. I am very keen to give credits (more than necessary) for work pinched, and I think of it as an idea, and do not care about ownership, although for work done, I am keen on copyright protection.

I am NOT sure it is possible to influence an INTP, even using hypnotism, pharmaceuticals or skullduggery. The usual way is to eliminate him, banish him/her, beat him up, cripple him, gaslight him, frame him for a crime, or just plainly ignore everything the INTP says in the democratic fashion.

Sometimes, a compromise can be painfully worked out.

Is the Sore Dragon your website, Perseus? Are you Glaucus?

Do you feel persecuted here or are you talking about INTP's in general.

Does anyone else have a weird, gravely, deep monotone voice in mind when reading Perseus' posts? I keep envisioning that little garden gnome talking to me like this.

Yep. Right now, I have got a very serious stalker problem. These people are so dangerous that my life is in danger. Life is on hold until I can escape.

How dangerous, the Police were called at four in the morning. I have been attacked and nearly killed.

My fault seems to lie in my ENXP personality. If introvert I can keep out of trouble from the Guards (SP). If I am detached (schizoid) I can do the same. However, I still have to earn a crust.

Okay, if Perseus does have that schizotypal disorder thing, and if what the rest of what he said is true, then I feel pretty crummy. :(
Even if I only criticized him once...openly, anyway...

I imagine a voice that is too dynamic and extremely absorbed in what he's saying, to the point of being completely deaf to anything anyone else might try to add. Sort of like when I listen to an INTP who is too excited about a theory of theirs, except that's his normal voice...
Really though. I'm so grossly intrigued by Perseus, sometimes it's hard to remember that he's a person rather than some sort of machine I want to pick apart.

I'm really intrigued by him now. I can't help but wonder if he has this disorder and is really making honest attempts to communicate with us, but it isn't coming out in a way we understand. If this is the case, I would like to find a way to communicate effectively with him. If he has a disability and is isolated, he probably needs friends.

Maybe he's just having fun at our expense, but what if he isn't? What if he is a very isolated person, trying to make contact with the outside world, the only way he knows how. I think that is how I choose to percieve him whether it's accurate or not.

The great draw back of forums like this is that none of us has any context for one another.

Sorry Perseus, for talking about you like you're not going to be reading this. ;)

Perseus, if I'm not mistaken, you are most likely a Dragon (INFP) who is also talented with the T function. This means we come close to relating to each other, but not entirely. This would explain some of the confusion we've had understanding you.

Dragons love to fantasize, and their imagination (Ne) often goes off into creating a world of their own. This world is where they feel most comfortable and they may use it as an escape from an otherwise cruel reality. Your imagination probably got creative and decided to give some symbolic meaning to the MBTI, hence your personality Animalism. I actually like the idea, it's very interesting.

Also, you seem to be a "Sore Dragon", hindered by this Guardian (SJ) dominated society - making you isolate even further. I've seen that it's typical for INFPs to be the most misunderstood and repressed by the Guards, especially STJs. It seems to be your passion to make this unfairness known. If so, I wouldn't mind helping - as I too have noticed this injustice for myself.

Am I warm, or am I way off?

A Stalking Horse (ESFJ) is the problem. I do NOT ascribe to psychiatry (my Perception score is high, 11 out of 12*). I am being stalked by an agent of the Psi Cops (psychiatry). She has been warned off, by the expedient of warning her that I would chop her head in half with an axe if she interferes. This is schizophrenia in her terms.

(*Doors of Perception in Blakian terminology.)

Actually, she is a Panda (ISTP variant) mimicking a Stalking Horse. Pandas are that, mimics. There are Stalking Horse plus Wolfman (ENTJ) enemies but they are at a distance.

Stalking link
Note that accusing another of a Personality Disorder or Mental Illness is a symptom of stalking.

Note that my Thinking score is 7 out of 12. This means some aspects of the Thinking portfolio are not a personality characteristic. One of these is resolution. Thinkers will score high on resolution, but not me.

I revert to the Dragon (INFP) under distress. This is called Monastic in Thundersbarrow, but it is called a Crusade on the flying episodes. The Watch (Police & Psi Cops) do this, just sit around a watch. A warning is not "threatening behaviour" as I explained. I was visited by a Queen of Tyrus, but she ran away. All very complicated and confusing mind games.

The Psi Corps (telepaths and psychologists) with Bester (Babylon 5) are the Black Glove.

I am a very low grade telepath, not powerful at all, and a lot of it is not instinct but deduction.

These have been revised.

I must also point out here for the sake of clarity, that animism (a belief in the existence, persistence, and prevalence of spirits) is not the same as animalism (a political philosophy analogue of Marxism in Orwell's Animal Farm), and neither of which is related to anthropomorphizing animals.

(We call them Furries.)

Andy, so you do not ascribe to psychiatry, but they seem to be after you. They call you mental and schizophrenic. They don't understand you. The guards (SJs) are on their side, and also against you.

There's a woman hired by the psychiatrist to investigate you?

Several of my friends have been wrongfully diagnosed by psychiatrist and given loads of medications. They are often too quick to discriminate without giving a thorough analysis of the person. In my friends' case, these medications ended up doing more harm than good - making the healing process much longer.

I personally don't like psychiatrist. I believe most of the drugs they perscribe are not meant to produce 'mental healing' but just 'societal function'. The cure exists in a true and nurturing relationship. This is something that you can't pay an expert to do, for it requires a real life friend who fully understands. Psychologist seem to come much closer to this...

Sadly, not all those in the filed of psychology have the natural gift of 'understanding' and 'counsel'...
