Random add PMs

Got like 9 advertisement PMs from some user who has been banned from the site. Don't want to open them to get rid of the notifications. Any way to delete them without opening them?

I'm not sure if it's the same for you or not, since mod UI is a little different. I see some tickable boxes to the right of the PMs in my inbox. Tick the offending items, scroll down to the very last message you received on the page, and then just below that there should be a drop down box that lets you operate on selected messages.
