Q. Will I always be this type?

A. Experts disagree, but your learning type should be pretty stable.
Most people do not change very much in their lifetime. If you are
very young, this kind of test is a bit less reliable, after 25 there
should be really no change.

The open question is; can or do people change their basic type?

Even under the extreme trauma of a moderately serious head injury,
the brain seems to try to return to the previous homeostasis.

Extroversion and Thinking can increase, but can only occur in small
does before I get tired.
Chemicals can alter Sensing-Intuition and Judgement-Perception, but I
do not think they can improve Thinking-Feeling or intelligence.

The answer: people don't change their basic underlying type, but they
can act for short periods on near types, when on drugs, and I know
people that can sustain the change for a bit longer, enough to
mislead the true nature of their personality type.

I would not mind betting that under continual intimidation
Extroversion changes to Introversion. This could happen in marriages,

Who are the experts that disagree?

DO YOU AGREE?

The way the theory was designed, yes, you will always be the same type. You may have typed yourself incorrectly at some point, but you will never change type. Changes in behavior that are often associated with one type or another are the product of type development, a.k.a. growing up. Introverts learn to use their extraverted auxiliary function to interface with the world around them and extraverts learn to use their introverted auxiliary function to study their own motivations and learn more about themselves.

Normally I'm all for the diversity of thought on a subject, but on this particular question, the people that think we change type over time do no understand the theory they claim to be experts of.

It's odd, because sometimes I seem to be very INFP, but I'm sure I'm not INFP because I have all the characteristics of an INTP. It's like sometimes I'm INFP, and sometimes INTP - usually I'm INFP when I'm not in so good a mood. It's like I have characteristics from both types, but every time I've taken the test, it's told me with a fair degree of certainty (always above 80%) that I'm Thinking - and I agree, really. I just seem to be Feeling in other ways.

I believe that self-personality can't b changed but is always mistaken when the surroundings affect them~ such as media.. most of the ppl like to immitate their idols and this will hide their real personality. it is difficult to discover their own personality when always affected by d environment...

(my opinion~)
