I once heard that we (people in general) love a significant other because this person has qualities that our parents) lacked.
So I was reflecting why I have felt so "Gatsby-like" for all the times I've had such a huge infatuation for someone (maybe it's because I just watched Silver Linings Playbook). And I tend to imagine us married and me not being good enough, going through such intense heartbreak, doing desperate things in order to get him back.
I don't think this is an INTP thing? Is watching porn an INTP thing too? Because I get turned off by falseness. And sometimes I read posts by INTPs that give me a sense of insincerity and arrogant "hipster-ness."
So I'm assuming it was because of my lackluster parents who were also deadbeats and killjoys. I could go on about them, but I'll stop here to avoid thinking about my previous miserable/stressed self any further.
Could any other INTPs share their experiences?
