Im just getting used to socionics, and Im trying to compare it to MBTI to save time, but sometimes it leads to some really strange stuff.

MBTI gives these mental functions for INTP: Ti, Ne, Si, Fe (in that order).

INTP functions do NOT correspond to the first four functions of the ILI (INTp) in socionics (the first four functions would be the ego/super-ego blocks). Instead they correspond to:
  • the id block (7th/8th - Ti as the strongest (8) + Ne(7))
  • the super-ego block (3rd/4th functions - Si as the stronger of the two (3) + Fe (4))

At first I thought this was because of the J/P switch where mbti's INTP becomes the socionics LII (INTj). Indeed, the functions of the INTj are a near-exact match to those of the INTP too. But after reading these links I got increasingly confused:
Then I came across these wikisocion articles for ILI (INTp) and LII (INTj):
Lo and behold, the INTj descriptions match INTJ descriptions perfectly, not INTP descriptions. So unless the wiki article writers themselves got deeply confused on this as I did, I have no idea what is going on. Can anyone explain this to me?

If you're wondering whether I'm actually an INTJ because of the way I wrote this post, I'm definitely not! :P

This is because the functions in Socionics have a completely different perspective and concept than MBTI functions.

Types in both systems are indirectly related by a function swap(because the 4 Letter Code carries over), but because of inaccurate testing, and other nuances, you should start from scratch when finding out your Socionics type(meaning you have to unlearn MBTI).

You should definitely read this:
