I have a hard time keeping a job. I have trouble keeping track of details, sometimes. And I procrastinate a bit on things which are tedious or garner no new knowledge. I know this irritates my managers and co-workers. I was told today to stop asking, "why" and just do what I'm told.

I don't know anymore. Am I socialized into a way of working that people dislike? Or, does this have something to do with being an INTP?

I'm quite exasperated. What kind of job can a non-degreed INTP do well?

Become an electrician then specialize in small instrument fitting. Move to Australia and earn 150k per year.

Nearly all work that requires no formal qualifications is shit work. Avoid it if possible. In such jobs don't ever ask why and just do your work. I found that manual labour is better than jobs in the food service industry. Managers and bosses in fast food are wankers. In a labouring environment, if you do your work and don't stagnate people will like you.

During my last year of high school I worked part time as an data base administrator at a call centre. I got the job because the administrator at the time quit and I was the only person in the organisation that worked with the data base on a regular basis. I quit when a new project manager was appointed and she deemed that I would be better suited to selling people crap over the phone.

I have been employed on and off for the last four years. I get a job when I can no longer afford to eat and pay for fuel.

As for myself I never seem to procrastinate when I am getting paid. i procrastinate like hell when it comes to university work.

i have trouble keeping jobs because i feel smothered by them. i can't stand being told what to do by people i view to be unintelligent and incapable of doing my job, much less their own.

i have no good answer but to fake your way through it if it is worth the money, if not at least finding a new one will be a change of pace.
