I know. This must be the millionth thread with IQ tests on this forum, but whatever.
Basically, I'm posting this so that people who suspect they have a high (or highish) iq can accurately find out their scores. All are free. None are timed (which i know you guys will just love). Posted in order of correlation with professionally administered timed IQ tests (0.9 and 0.75 respectively).

First proposal: The CFNSE. It measures above 2 standard deviations- 130 IQ. Originally meant to be a hard test usable for admission into high iq societies, several answers were posted online making it no longer valid for such a purpose. It took me just under 2 hours, taking most people between 2 to 5 hours (Just under 2 hours was enough to get me above 130). It gives you your score as a percentile, so to convert it to IQ you'll need to input the value here and multiply the answer by 15.

Second proposal: The JCTI. This one doesn't have any measurement limits, but is still more reliable for higher ranges. I did it in just under an hour, and in general can be completed faster.

Something I forgot to mention:The CFNSE is usually taken over at least 2-3 days, although you can do it in as much time as you wish.

Skipped about 4-6, it took me awhile.

I've always had trouble mentally turning objects in 3D and the test made me realize something.. Why not represent objects physically and rotate that? D'oh!

Also, as a question for the general field of IQ and IQ testing: why is the ability to identify abstruse logical patterns between geometrical shapes significant?

The idea is to test your ability to do it mentally, not having to do it physically.
As for your question, while snafupants is probably better equipped to answer, it's supposed to do with your ability to handle, identify and perform operations on (increasingly) complex abstract objects and sequences.

Well I only did it once so the score would still pretty much be the same. But I think that's the problem with these tests, personally I think it was a clever thing for me to do, which should be the whole point of a true intelligence test - creative thinking. Not what patterns you could see between some shapes. They're clearly looking for something specific.

JCTI - 125 - I had a lot of trouble with the dice that would be in a pair, then go to a single die and determining the pattern in the single die. I also probably shouldn't have done it at work.

I got a 125 on the JCTI... but I skipped maybe ten questions because I started getting bored. It took me no where near an hour though.

I'll be lucky if I can get 110 on this.

Let's see how I do...

I did a search for the test online and took it.

They said I was between 120 and 130. So I am smart enough to know I am not that smart.
