Base 2: Because we will all be cyborgs soon anyway
Base 8: Because I need to be able to divide by 2 more than once.
Base 10: If it aint broke, dont fix it. Also, I have 10 toes
Base 12: Cause you can divide by 2, 3, 4, and 6...yeah buddy!
Base 13: Composite numbers are for the weak
Base 16: I just love dividing by 2
Base 30: Because you can divide by 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6! oh, and also 10
Base 60: Babylonians are cool

Which is best and why?
I vote for Base 12

I don't like 2, or 16. 2 is not practical for most purposes where arithmetic is concerned, and 16 has too much 2. My least favourite thing about Typology is that 16 is a little too even a number. 2^2^2? Come on now >=(

I would usually say 12, but your argument for 13 is rather convincing. Hell, why stop at 13? we could go to 17 or higher! :O

base 37? 30 = 111, [18]0 = 666 yay

or we could use a decimal base, or an irrational base. the possibilities are endless!

Base 16.

I just love dividing by two. I suck at math and dividing by two is among the easiest things. Also, I'm 16. Oh god what a coincidence! :D

Hey, why is it that we don't have a base 20 so that we can count on all our fingers+toes?

Hmm, an irrational base...how about base i?

Could that even work? A quick internet search didn't produce anything. I just tried to work it out myself, but got bogged down. I submit it as a challenge. Convert any number to base i.

The winner will receive and e-prize: :elephant:

Base twelve. The practical uses are many. I use 12 as a module in many designs for its fractional flexibility

I'm all in favour of base 12 if someone comes up with two additional numerals that aren't totally goofy looking and names for their ordinals and cardinals.
