I suppose they could do a “War of the Worlds” thing, starts out with some young woman going about the mundane activities of everyday life, a news broadcast on a TV in the background talks about people going missing and alleged sightings of black monsters, a talk show commentator chimes in about racial prejudice. The doorbell rings and it’s her father who has dropped by to give her a housewarming gift and congratulate her on buying her first home, they sit down to have tea and catch up, there’s some commotion going on outside and she laments that this neighbourhood isn’t as quiet as she previously thought.
She closes the window and they catch up for a bit, exchanging small talk, until we see the sharp tail of a xenomorph uncurl form above (out of frame). Snap cut to the father’s shocked expression and the sound of someone being impaled, next shot we see it wasn’t him (as was implied) but rather the young woman with the end of the tail sticking out of her chest, clothes rapidly getting soaked with blood. (false protagonist)
He proceeds to fight the xenomorph using everything he can get his hands on, a pot of boiling water from the stove, kitchen knives, a rolling pin, a kitchen stool, a fire extinguisher. The xenomorph isn’t really taking this fight seriously, he’s hurting it but not really doing any damage and it seems distracted by all the sights/sounds of its environment. Finally he grabs an extension cord, cuts one end off, splits the wires a bit so it won’t immediately arc and holds the exposed ends between the fingers in his fist then plugs it back in as the xenomorph lunges at him. There’s a blue flash and the lights go out.
Turns out this old guy is former military special forces and the movie is his fight for survival and to make it to a shuttle to escape off-world, and when he finally gets there he gives up his chance to escape for a young woman that reminds him of his daughter.
And then after the credits we see an Alien pop out of her chest.
