Default Original vs Cover

I thought it would be fun to compare different versions of the same song: your precessor has posted the original version and a cover (or multiple covers of that song), you chose which is your favourite version along with posting multiple versions of another song.

So, let's start

Sorry, I couldn't see your first video -- it's blocked in the US apparently. I had to go look up another link for it.

The original seems kind of campy and fun, and musically seems to have more elements woven through over time.
The cover seems more intense but a bit more simple/direct.

Probably prefer the original, but I like both styles.

Neat idea.

Pardon me for taking up space and not really playing along, but I just want to say that while most originals are better, All Along the Watchtower was done WAY better by Hendrix.

i think i prefer cash's version, the instrumentation is better for my taste also the singing from the original one doesn't appeal that much.

Wow I could have sworn that song belonged to Johnny Cash he performed it much better.

@TMB the first video isn't available in the US. But I was able to hear it anyway.
I love sabbath/doom riffs but for me it doesn't vibe well with Marley's peaceful voice. The live version from Babylon By Bus is my favorite though.

I like the vocals a lot better in the original, but I like the new take on the music in the version by Skeletal Family.

I think the latter is a perfect cover of the former. I like how they interpreted the original.

dear god, lol.
But is that an actual cover? Or are you just jerking us around?

Spoiler:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_No_No_(Apink_song)
It looks like Apink's version was put out in July 2013.

Meanwhile, Beirut's album came out in Sept 2015.

I will definitely say the songs are very indicative of musical genre... low-budget indie vs polished Asian bubblegum.

I actually did a cover compilation search a few times in the past, so I have some knowledge of covers if they weren't entirely obscure.

Here's one:

HAHAHAHA so theyre not even related?
apink is polished asian bubblegum but gotdamn theyre catchy i love their songs
beirut to me, like most "indie" bands, is annoying and try-hard(admittedly, i only listened to the frst 10 seconds of the song then skipped to somewhere in the middle and listened to like 10 more then closed because i cant stand this type of music)

The instruments are better in the cover, the guitars are more melodic and "pop out" more? I don't know how to say it. But the original's vocals fit the track more than the cover.

She's really impressive.

Spoiler:
She turns the perspective of the song around to a female lead unlike Ben's male narrative one.
