Default Headband Brainscan

In the last third of the video the inventor says her headband uses holography to see how infrared light scatters off brain cells to measure brainwaves. She says it is possible in the near future to get the resolution of a single brain cell.

I don't know much about physics, so can't speak much as to whether this is possible. I do know that people have been very creative in figuring out ways to image the brain, implying that anything 'simple' that had this sort of application would have been done already.
