'Frisdrank', literally meaning fresh drink, actually meaning soft drink.

Soda isn't used in Britain. Pop is used for any fizzy drink, but it's used in some regions but not others. Coke is used for coca cola.

Coke, fizzy drinks or softdrinks.
If anyone says soda or pop they seem sorta young like they've spent a large portion of their life being influenced by American tv. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just very different and out of place.

Would be "Soft drink" or "Fizzy drink" here in southern England in my experience. If you said soda you'd likely get soda water (makes sense, right?), though pop would likely get you what you wanted, depending on who you were talking to.

Generally though, I never hear any of the above - the specific drink name is used instead, like Cola, Coke, 7up, Dr Pepper, Lemonade etc etc..

Here in Ireland (and the British Isles) we usually call it a fizzy drink or a soft drink but we usually refer to the specific name of the drink eg. Coke, 7Up, Dr. Pepper.

I saw a soda the other day called "Dr. Pop". I thought, damn, the marketing departments for these products have gotten really uncreative. But it's also true that the name has stuck in my mind for that very reason...
