I think this describes the INTP version of compassion pretty well:

FFFFFFUUUUU-
I missed the sticky thread. :slashnew:
uh....oops.
...
..
.
carry on.
EDIT: Oh! But wait! I just re-realized...in this one you request the mixtape, and respond to requests. So...it's a separate topic with its own thing. Cool.
...
carry on. again.
:phear:
I don't sleep that much at all (2-4 hours /night)...but what I do get seems to be pretty quality.
I don't know if it's a personal thing (like having more "sleep spindles" in the brain--I sleep through any noise or light)...or if it has something to do with my environment.
My sleep...
mixtape:
A mixtape or mixed tape is a compilation of songs recorded in a specific order, traditionally onto a compact audio cassette (wikipedia)
So. The purpose of this thread is to make a mixtape for the theme and style requested by any previous poster.
And, conversely, to request the...
I'd say there's quite a range, but that we nearly all continue to question ourselves, as we should.
I'm a "liberal", I guess, if one sums it up.
The aspects of the INTP personality that I think would lead us to be "liberal" in the social-values sense is the not-listening-to-authority part...
I go to clean...and then I don't.
The apartment I share with some people (some neat, some like myself) looks bipolar between stark cleanliness, and different forms of messiness.
My section is messy in the stacks of cds, books and papers, few piles of clothes, and "storage" consisting of a...
Now, I have never quite had your problem, except for one piece. Sometimes I do feel like I'm living from an observational point of view, instead of an active point of view. I will go thorough things analyzing and thinking about events and people that I come into contact with, but I'll never...
- alcohol, since 16, but that's normal...it was a family-approved thing.
- weed, since 18 or so. When I've got nothing going on. I don't let it get in the way of work or school or anything important to me. Same with alcohol. I like weed...actually, where I am it's easy as hell to get even...
If there's a moderator somewhere around here, I was wondering if this could be moved to some relevant section of the forum that isn't immediately viewable to anyone?
I did talk to my roommate about myers-briggs, and she knows about the INTP thing and was semi-interested in the whole thing...
@Trebuchet: Thank you. The "not a therapist" thing is good advice. Sometimes because of my interest in psychology, I can forget that.
Oh, believe me, sometimes I'd like to.
This. This is pretty much what has sometimes really gotten on my nerves about the whole thing: sometimes I think...
Yea. Hope so. I keep on going back and forth between the charitable thoughts of, "oh, she's a nice person, if you ditched her as a roommate she might get more depressed and so you should stick around" and (what I think is) the classic INTP thing of saying, "why do I care? Oh, that's right, I...
Least plausible? Probably that intelligent people exist, and that I met some of them.
As to pizza rolls, meh. They're sort of good in a cheese-and-grease type way, but, as Gather's avatar points out, they're also fucking annoying and because nobody is going to wait until they cool off, they...
I could do that...indeed, I could photoshop everyone's avatar with fruit, telepathically learn what their favorite song is, and play it backward over the ashes of the pictures, which of course I would burn...and then where would we all be?! Strawberryland, for sure.
I have a feeling like we...
Hi. *awkward intp-wave and half smile-attempt*
Welcome to you as well! From my perspective, you're all new, and I'm the old one. I like your ending to the story better. I will do my best to adopt such a motto. You really sure more people in Australia have a problem with the love of...
Thanks, Dave, that's also good advice, especially about not attempting to relate with my own experience (it is true--that was awkward. I didn't know what to do...so...).
It is also true that therapy is free on our campus, and from what I hear pretty good. I tried to get her to go, but she...
*"with" = "will" typo, lol. Oh, and retrospecively I think I come off as sort of advice-heavy: sorry, I get sort of used to helping my siblings (and myself) manage our education. It's a semi-obsession for me at this point, because it's the only way out of bad places, in my opinion.
Yea, especially in the South the big state schools are better than the others. I think you made the right choice there. What you should do is talk to lots of people early on about the best professors and classes, and don't always listen to their advice, but take it into consideration. With...
No, unfortunatly she's not in therapy, as I said: her family is poor and she is plagued by medical issues she was born with that suck up all of their extra money. Plus, she doesn't trust that sort of thing, though I think with time and the funds to actually go to decent therapy, that could be...
Yet: thank you green eye at the end of the universe.
Kantor: tsk. You're lucky the police didn't catch you persona-creating while intoxicated. And that's me in my picture too, so now I'm forever sealed as someone with bright blue facial features who sort of looks like a specter.
I started learning German 3 years ago, and this, my username, has been my favorite word from the beginning. It's a fun language: really precise, the grammar is interesting, and it really helps my understanding of english as a language.
I had thought that was because of alpha-waves in the brain right in the initiation of the sleep cycle.
I experience it too, mostly snippets of fake conversations that never existed in random voices, sometimes ones I know, sometimes ones I don't. Occasionally there's music or sounds like...
yeah, you'll do fine. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of college are you going to? (liberal arts, tech, big state school, etc)? That will change how you go about succeeding
No more third person. I don't know what I was on.
I understand my intro is confusing as hell, but I just checked, and, yup, I'm still too lazy to change it.
I'm the 22 year old.
My mother is the single mother.
We good?
...
(I feel bad though about flatly refusing the 3rd person...
My roommate at college has had chronic depression for most of her life after age 7. She has some health issues, family issues, a mentally disturbed brother who is threatening, economic issues (poor as shit), and is so introverted people walk all over her.
As an INTP, despite having gone...
Man, you people listen to epic music. Thanks much.
This is what I was listening to (before found your stuff, that is):
YouTube - Cold war Kids - Saint John
so. I'm here.
Intro: a currently 22 year old Polish/Russian/German/African-American was born to a single mother and raised in the deep south with all her siblings until she was 18. She didn't have any religion, and she loved knowledge. Many people had a problem with that. But she was...
there are any number of professions you might be extraordinary in, were you to feel that they encompassed something large enough to be worth the while. So instead you dabble around and everyone thinks you don't know what you're doing...but you do: Everything.
