I try to read a book of fiction every week, mostly science fiction or fantasy. Every month or so I'll get on a philosophy kick and read stuff on a topic I'm interested in.

I've recently enrolled in a Computer Science bachelor, majoring in Data Science. The university professors seem to think it's the newfangled thing which will lead to great success after graduation. I'm hoping it's not the case that they're merely echoing the words of the university's marketing...

I've read how disinterested you were in programming. May I ask why you've changed your mind?

I think I might suffer from the same problem. Are there any jobs that the non-techie INTP can be satisfied with? Or can non-techie INTPs still be successful programmers?

Where intrinsic motivation is not apparent, INTPs appear to need extrinsic motivators to force accomplishments. Is there a sense in which INTPs are incapable of motivating themselves to do things they aren't interested in? It appears to be a general dividing line between the INTJ and INTP.

I've started strongly considering programming. It seems to be all the rage among INTPs. I'd never considered myself a "maths" type though, but I've had fun playing around with html. Any advice for an INTP considering programming from fellow INTP programmers?
