"Ah yes, that's, um, that's Perfectly Normal Beast"

"It's what?"

"Perfectly Normal Beast"

"So what's odd about it?"

"Nothing, it's Perfectly Normal."

"I see. And why are they called Perfectly Normal Beasts?"

"Well, I think because otherwise people might think it was a bit odd. I think Old Thrashbarg called them that. He says they come from where they come from and they go to where they go to and that it's Bob's will and that's all there is to it."

It was preferable to anything else I could come up with, and I was reminded of it due to the movie "Clifford" with Martin Short. Which is hilarious.

I chose worm because I happened to be listening to "Waiting For the Worms" by Pink Floyd.
In perfect isolation.

An online personality test listed "slacker" and "assassin" as two potential career paths for INTP.

I ran with it on Tumblr. But now I've changed my name to "The Riot Semaphore," and I very much wish I could change my name to Riot Semaphore on here.

Ha -- is that the Similar Minds test? I think I saw someone elsewhere talking about the "assassin" thing.

It's the name of the protagonist, excluding the last two numbers, in the The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.

Well, you see, I am a space explorer. And my ideal form is a goose, because geese are fucking cool. Hence the somewhat unintentional galaticgoose - yes, friends, 'tis indeed a typo of the missed-c sort.

As a kid my three dreams were:
To be an Inventor.
To be a Scientist wearing a lab coat (yes the lab coat is absolutely necessary ).
To be a Ninja/Assassin. The idea of vanishing without a trace fascinates me even to this day.

Well, I wanted my name to be software-related, and it's pretty appealing to consider something which points to nothing.

Woah, far out, dude. :ahh: Maaaaaaan!

Mainly it just sounds cool and it wasn't taken. Plus you can interlace the initials of it with "IT" and get INTP, which I noticed later and appreciated greatly.

I've always been fond of the name Laserbeak, and have used that handle before. Didn't use it when registering though. Wanted to use something 'original', so I replaced laser with pizza.

Lajos Balatony is a character from a Hungarian black comedy / horror movie called Taxidermia (2006). He is a taxidermist and lives a dull, shady and solitary life, which involves only stuffing dead animals and taking care of his morbidly obese father, a former contestant at eastern bloc's fictional speed-eating championship. Father considers him a disappointment for not sharing any of his values. Unable to establish a meaningful relationship with anyone, yet thriving for some acknowledgement, Lajos eventualy works himself out, stuffs his own body, chops his head off and exhibits himself as an ancient statue in a modern art gallery.

I chose this name because Lajos's life reminds me of my own - I too have very little friends, cannot communicate with my surrounding the way I want; I too would like to be admired, consider my family very bounding (despite '89, everyone is still stuck in socialism and all we can talk about is food - it seems to be their main concern in life) and I used to be suicidal too.

Slowly making my way around the forum. Nice topic!

Lemongrab 2: Yes, yes! All her fault!
Lemongrab: What? What'd you say?
Lemongrab 2: I said, "all her fault."
Lemongrab: Oh, indeed! For once we had commenced, how could we desist?
Lemongrab 2: I looked deep in myself and found that I'm a guy who can't stop making candy life from the food he needs.
Lemongrab: Me, too.
Lemongrab 2: It just felt so pretty okay inside, greeting each new placid face...
Lemongrab: ...and hearing each new piercing song!
Plop-Top: [screams]
Lemongrab 2: We used the last of the food to make Plop-Top, here.
Lemongrab: Mm. I thought we said Dump-Dome.
Lemongrab 2: [screams] Who cares anyway? They've brought no food! We're all going to die!
Finn: Look. We brought these seeds. [opens case] They're special candy seeds.
Jake: You can grow new food now.
Lemongrab: [walks over] Oh, yes. [taking seeds] Hmm, mm-hmm, mmhm. Yes. [pushes Plop-Top off of table, squishes seeds together]
Lemongrab 2: Yes, yes. There we go! [pours formula onto wad]
[Wad of seeds comes to life and immediately throws up the excess formula.]
Lemongrab: Ha-haaa! We'll call you Seed-Wad!
Lemongrab 2: [admiringly] Ooh!

The name I have is more important to me. Zen means lack of cohesion and the contrast of it to a structure. Raiden is the name of god from Mortal Kombat.

Even though I am an atheist, I like to provoke overly-sensitive people this way.

Also admire the metaphors behind it.

AzuriteCat is a fancy name I made up for my artist persona.
Azurite is a crystal.

1. Sky blue is my favourite colour. Azure is another name for sky blue. Azurite's name came from the word Azure.

2. To some people who believed in crystal healing, azurite is thought to enhance creativity upon those who carries them. Since AzuriteCat is my artist persona name and creativity is an important trait for artists to have... yeah, you get what I mean.

3. Long time ago, they used azurite as a blue paint medium. Another art-related connection made there.

4. Azurite can turn green once exposed to moisture in the air. Green reminds me of nature. I do enjoy exploring natural areas if given the chance to.

5. I was interested in crystals at that time.

6. Azurite isn't very commonly mentioned compared to crystals like ruby and jade.

Finally, I like cats.

Hence, the name AzuriteCat is made.

It started out as a simple idea which I cannot quite remember: the desire for less, to believe less, to be less? I had a recurring idea for several years about emptying myself, and becoming nothing. I think it would have been grand to lose sense of self and 'is'-ness.

In time, this idea of nothing, which evolved alongside other ideas which captured my interest, some of which have since been abandoned, become the primary lens through which I perceived the Cosmos. Absolutely everywhere, the idea of nil has inundated my understanding my introducing a little more nothingness to all the everything that exists everywhere.

I figured I would make this post now, since just a few days ago, I realized that because of this idea, almost every single one of my once-held beliefs have been completely reversed. It is the most powerful idea I have ever nurtured, so much so that several other ideas I have held dear have been altered by it.

Power.

Lacplesis is a mythological hero of my nation. His name literally means the splitter of a bear. The story goes that he was physically very strong, so strong that once, when he fought a bear, he took bear's upper and lower jaw with his strong hands and split the bear in two. His strenght came from his ears. Yup, he had special ears, those of a bear. He fights for our nation. That's the short version.

The dark side of me that I must look for but cannot see:
Gray Men, also known as Soulless,[1] are not constructs but men (and sometimes women) who have given their souls to the Dark One. The process renders them almost completely unnoticeable. While the Gray Men are not invisible in the literal sense, they are used primarily as assassins because of their ability to effectively infiltrate any location or situation completely unnoticed. -Wheel of Time

The Balance:
The line between white and black. Death and life. Evil and good.

The thing to strive for:
Life becomes of the man and the woman. The fire of the sun and the ice of space. Life exists only on the scales of balance. Too much water and we drown. Not enough and we thirst.

78 is a number I just like, but TPW stands for an acronym of my Yahoo Answers pseudonym: Timothy Perseus Wordesworthe/wordsworth.

Quite Quite, very British

But Timothy is a chosen, inoffensive (kindly sounding) name

Perseus is just a hero, and I have an adventurous, heroic ideal

Wordsworth just means that I think that my words have worth, and I hope that people will listen.

It's one of my older nicks which I believed to fit perfectly for this forum. The "Imaginary Numbers" are a group of artificially created super humans from Front Mission 3, an awesome PSX game. The additional 3 is just because it makes the name more interesting.

But it's actually used in math as well and used in a way to "trick" math. I was about to choose an Imaginary from Front Mission 3 as my avatar but decided to make an own avatar from a game recently shut down.

Read a book called 'Honour Among Thieves' by Jeffrey Archer recently, one of the characters in it was named Cavalli, I don't actually have any other usernames except one I made when I was eight which makes zero sense and I have no idea how I got it (it's Do You 23). I really liked the name Cavalli, I don't know why, so yeah.

Tholomyes, for Felix Tholomyes, Fantine's Summertime lover, from Les Miserables. It is my favorite book, and the character of Felix Tholomyes is not mentioned in the musical, so my name will not attract the contemptible fanatics of the musical (apologies to any fans of the musical; by virtue of being on this forum, I can almost certainly assure you I don't mean you; I myself, rather enjoy it, though not as much as the book, by far, however, there is a certain breed of fan of the musical, who focuses far too much on the love-triangle of Marius, Eponine and Cosette, who both in the book and the musical, are all relatively flat and/or unlikable characters). Also, it just sounds cool.
