My best friend is an ESFJ. I met him in 6th grade (about 7 years ago). We actually hated each other at first and talked shit to each other during P.E. before we became friends. He's hilarious, super sweet, and we get along swimmingly.

all of my closest friends are Ns (not out of conscious choice), i have a few close SP friends but whenever i talk to them/hang out with them it's more like we're existing in the same space rather than interacting, it's alright when i just want to be an idiot and have a laugh but it lalways leaves me with a slight feeling of emptiness in the friendship

I have the same problem, but with SJ's (particularly STJ's). I think it's because our perceiving functions are so different (it might be the same for you NP vs SP viewpoints).

Edit: NEMESES!

i voted ENFP but i never really liked having to choose a "best" friend (does anyone else feel this way too?)

however, my friends are mostly intuitives. i think ive subconsciously ditched all my sensor friends

I'm seriously the only only one with an istp best (only) friend?
Going out in public's interesting, they talk to people, make plans and drive everywhere, and I watch them, like this, long and unblinking.:) Hmmmm, maybe this is why I'm the creepy one.

Post script: We're still in dispute about their type.

An ENTP - conversation morphs into misanthropic hilarity fairly quickly.

I avoid labeling best and better friends as such, really can't see much benefit to it. I have a very good mate who is an INTP, we're very similar overall and just get alone intuitively, meaningfully and without issues. I also have good friends in the INFJ, ISTP, and ENFP categories. My most irregular friendship would be with an ESFP. We're completely different but I think he uses me to "chill out" with and just talk as opposed to his usual routine.

ENTJ. I find the lack of any internal censor and crude humour hilarious. We both do it and come up with absurd insults and comments.

Yeah, I have an ESFP (how we ended up together, I'll never know haha) best friend, too. But, I figured people would fuck around with the poll if I allowed multiple answers.

That is true. Now it is ENFJ for some time. In reality but it used to be one INTJ guy until I moved. I would not say "best" friend but just friend. Because as I have already said many times if I can remember I only had 2 people who I did consider or still do "friends". I have a hard time defining it though. So yes ENFJ and it changed about 4 months ago from "I feel like I am being controlled" to "I want it by myself like this, I like it etc." I never felt so good when it comes relationships with others and as much is I do not want to belive it it helped me a lot in my life I think...

My longest and best friend is an INTJ. Looking back most my friends or people that cross that acquaintance barrier are INTJ. I doubt this is just a coincidence.

It's not like I treat him differently (or even give a fuck). I don't even think about it when I'm not on this forum lol

All of my best friends are "N"s, I think as a subconscious choice to compensate for the HUGE amount of SJ's in my family. My two best pals are an INFJ and ENFP. Hoping to meet another INTP someday, but I don't even think those exist within a 20 mile radius to where I go anywhere... so yeah...

I don't really have a "best friend" in the platonic sense, however my girlfriend is an ENFP. I've always gotten along very well with ENFP's for some reason. They're good at bringing things out that I normally keep contained. I have another friend who I see pretty often who is most likely an ESFP. While I enjoy her company, I tend to keep it in small doses since I can get pretty irritated after the silliness has worn off.

Hey, wow. Nobody that I know of's even heard about any personality classification beyond Introvert and Extrovert, let alone MBTI.

So it falls to me to educate them all, and I'm an INTP. *sigh*
