This movie soundtrack reminds me of the ray of sunshine that appears at the end of a storm. When you've cried your heart out and you stop putting up a resistance but simply accept yourself as you are.

Not exactly feeling that way right now or at least not with that sort of intensity.

If you wanna be my friend
You want us to get along
Please do not expect me to
Wrap it up and keep it there
The observation I am doing could
Easily be understood
As cynical demeanour
But one of us misread...
And what do you know
It happened again

A friend is not a means
You utilize to get somewhere
Somehow I didn't notice
friendship is an end
What do you know
It happened again

How come no-one told me
All throughout history
The loneliest people
Were the ones who always spoke the truth
The ones who made a difference
By withstanding the indifference
I guess it's up to me now
Should I take that risk or just smile?

What do you know
It happened again
What do you know

This one is interesting. Sakamoto is a beast. Which song/s of his are your favorite?

I personally like this one:

I already posted a lot of Sakamoto a while back. But bibo no Aozora is good.

I learned to play forbidden colours on the piano. But have since forgotten it. Que lastima.

I don't know about the nature album. I saw it awhile ago but I wouldn't call it music... well... it's relaxing music. Idk.

Oh nice, I've never actually known anyone outside of my group of friends who knows Kings of Convenience. Have you heard his (edit: Erlend's) solo stuff and/or The Whitest Boy Alive?

As for me:

@sir eus lee

I'll try my best to rustle my Si playlist..

This all depends on whether you're seeking for familiarity in the emotional aspect, the melody-instrumental aspect or the same theme/motif, but eh, here's two just to begin somewhere.

This probably feels a lot more raw although the unrequited love element somewhat lingers.

This song's gotten popular, but the 'uplift' emotional element which you seem to be seeking is there, I think, in (acoustic) guitar form.
I don't think there's a lot artists who have the same vibe as Kings of Convenience though, their acoustic composition is something I haven't heard in other artists at all, unless we throw in foreign artists (non-English), but yeah.

Nah not yet. I'll make sure I get a listen though.

So Evanescence marked their entry into a new decade in 2011 when they came back and launched their self titled album, and continued to tour most of 2011&12.. Then what do you know, they all but dissappear in 2013 again... Then behold, Amy Lee emerges from the fog and shares with us her solo projects and new creative collaborations.

It's all very different from Evanescence; a band which was birthed around.. 1996. Amy stated in 2014 that Evanescence will always be her baby, and she will always keep the band alive for their fans .. However, the band won't always be at the forthought of her priorities. She's grown up a lot in the last twenty years, and like all of us, she would like to vary her experiences.

I initially feared the worst, but they were laid to rest recently when Amy introduced a new member to the band, and another chick at that, Jen Mutara.

Anyway, this is a sound track from the movie War Horse, they needed something of this genre and real quick. Amy, who had been composing the classical instrumentals, volunteered to throw this together for the producing team :

They're all pretty good. His first solo album is kind of electronica and his second one is verging on reggae without actually being reggae which is nice. And then The Whitest Boy Alive was originally conceived as an electronic project but shifted into a groovy indie rock sound before they even put anything out. I'd say that The Whitest Boy Alive is a must-listen.

I took a listen yesterday. Dreams I thought was nice- my personal favorites were Borders and All Ears. The overall upbeat was something I could vibe with. I'd recommend.

Rules on the other hand seemed more like one of those albums you leave on playing in the background. Really mellow, though I didn't mind it. It picks up from the middle I think, starting with Rollercoaster Ride. But uh, it goes full beta male mode after 1517. The vibe isn't that pretty- well at least for me; at the moment. :phear:

Yeah, I'd agree that Dreams is a better album. Golden Cage is my jam off that one.

And I get what you're saying about Rules. To be honest I wasn't a huge fan of any of their stuff until a few (maybe more) listens through.

I'm not going to condemn you for not digging them as much as I do, but I'd recommend that you don't give up on them just yet.
