What should I do with my life?

I'm sure a similar thread has been started before, but I'm to lazy to look.

Anyway, I'll need to start making choices soon about where to go to college, what to major in, and what career I eventually want to end up in. I'm artistic, but I'm not sure if I'm good enough to make a career out of it. I love sociology and psychology interests me. I'm not very good at science but neuroscience seems pretty awesome. I also hate math.
So as fellow INTPs what are some of your majors/careers and do you like doing what you do? I would especially like insight from those of you who are more artistic. Thanks.

It appears you're interested in a lot of dead ends (fun stuff with poor job outlooks)...

How about GIS/Urban Planning?

Generally, they all conclude to the same answer: Do what you want to do.

I started in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering and found the atmosphere to be rather dull. I was fed a lie and the things I wanted to do weren't possible. So... I switched to music. I'm currently completing my post-grad to become a music teacher. I enjoyed some of my academic years in music, especially the improvisation classes. Providing a live soundtrack to a film is great fun.

Standing in front of a class to teach feels weird at first, but you get used to it. ^^

However, I'm probably going to head off to Japan next year to teach some kids how to say "'round the rugged rocks, the ragged rascal ran". I can write some music whilst I'm over there too.

Science and Maths are generally sold as bundle package (especially in higher level academia). If you're not a fan of Maths, then perhaps you won't enjoy science at high level. I could be wrong however.

I'd say that arty classes are good to learn, but are hard to make careers out of unless you are very proactive. Seeing as you opened this topic using the words "too lazy to", that can't be a good sign :D

I'm actually enjoying the irony between the "do what you love, love what you do" orientation of this thread (my preferred position) and the income & prestige orientation of this thread.

If you're turned off by urban planning/GIS, I'm assuming you're not attracted to their utilitarian aspects (e.g. improving low income housing or reducing crime rates), so I therefore assume you're attracted to sociology/psychology based on an interest in how people work (amirite...?).

Perhaps something along the lines of Law & Policy? Do you have an environmental streak? (I'm clearly running along the sociology/psychology lines here :D)

Archaeology/Anthropology are other equally interesting yet likely dead-ended careers to consider as well.

You're right about being interested in how people work.
Perhaps I should just settle for teaching.

They say:

Those that can - do
Those that can't - teach
Those that can't teach - teach gym

What about those who can teach? Doers have to learn somehow/where, and the Peter Principle swallows most of them up anyway...

Those who can teach have no lives outside of teaching. ^^
