What political of philosophical position would cause you enough anger to fight for it?

Strong-AI rights.

The fair and ethical treatment of transhumans (including users of current prosthetics).

Ahh, it takes a lot to anger me with regard to political / philosophical views. I suppose an emotional stance on an issue rather than a logical one can be infuriating, but after I realize people see it emotionally, it doesn't really anger me.

There is one ethical philosophy I particularly dislike though and that is utilitarianism.

The problem with the philosophy can be summarized in a brief story...

I agree with Cog; any being that can think on our level deserves the same rights. Also complete separation of church and state, LGBT rights, anti-torture, severe population control, and anti-censorship.

I'm don't label myself an environmentalist; but we do need to keep our environment habitable or at the very least colonize mars already.

@razare: props. Ursula K LeGuin is awesome.

EDIT: politics must bring out my suppressed J

Hrm..

Odd question..

Usually I would only stand for pretty ladies.

I know the sign says 'priority seating for the elderly and disabled',

but if those old people can't so much as grab my attenttion, how can they expect me stand on those hazardous buses while they shoot down Irelands crazily planned roads?

I don't stand. I roll over. I take pride in knowing there is more than one viewpoint to everything and that none is greater than any other. Plus, I'm usually on the wrong side of everything, so my being on your side would be an ill omen. I do have some opinions, but they are just that. Let someone more qualified than I make these kinds of decisions. By someone more qualified, of course I mean any idiot who reached the age of eighteen and didn't accidentally eat their voter registration form (surprisingly, this includes just 79% of americans).

If you stand for anti-totalitarianism or for the rights of bunnies, doesn't that mean you have to fight for them.

I can't think of a single thing I would fight for, you can have my country and my freedom, just don't hit me.

I stand for some things, but I'm not sure I would fight for them. But then, if i wouldn't fight for them, do I really stand for them? And of course, I can see many possible angles of the issues and usually all sides have some kind of valid points...

I suppose I could get angry about abortion, illegal immigration, or someone perpetrating an injustice upon an innocent victim - but then, who am I to judge?
