I like drinking and really satisfying competition. Love to read about almost anything. I like to camp and get drunk. i like to watch hours of CNBC and sit on my laptop researching stocks. Try to figure IT ALL out.

I greatly enjoy:
Escapes into the wilderness (camping, hiking, canoeing, etc.), Strategy games, Spending quality time with a close friend.

Gathering information is good too, but sometimes I need time off the job to really process it; Wilderness voyages are good for that.

Mostly, I enjoy music. I spend probably 5-6 hours a day just reading stuff online and listening through albums. I also love people, plants, animals, and life in general. Everything on earth (and beyond) is here for me to examine and attempt to understand as best I can. I love smoking weed and drinking tea, coffee, or alcohol, depending on who I'm with (or in marijuana's case, I often actually like to be alone and enjoy introspecting). I also love sports, politics, history, philosophy, anthropology, psychology, and vehicles with 5 speed transmission.

Lost in my thoughts
Crushing my enemies, seeing them driven before me, and hearing the lamentation of their women!:hoplite_sword_kill:

Er, in all seriousness, though, I really enjoy people - but it's more about understanding them rather than actually interacting with them. I love to try to see how people think, and then fit them into categories (such as the MBTI), or to mentally see what their actions would be in a current situation/apply it to real life. There's not much better than seeing your prediction about someone coming true - even if you did just keep it to yourself...

the in-between
feeling like i've accomplished something. whether it's painting a picture, playing a song, or even actually finishing my homework for a change, i enjoy being productive. i just wish i could motivate myself to do that more.

i also enjoy being with (a small group of) friends and having in-depth conversations with them, or even just a nice string of banter. i enjoy kitties and hugs and cuddles and art, creating it and observing it, and being a part of something larger than me. i enjoy music and poetry, weird dreams, and being recognized and acknowledged as a real person, with something to say.

tea in the morning, coffee in the afternoon, hot chocolate in the evening.
vegetarian home-cooking, apples, peanut butter.
stepping inside a warm room when you were just outside in the cold.
the atmosphere of a foggy lake by the woods at midnight.
the myths of the iroquois.
collar bones.
movies that make life seem more dynamic than it is.
watching people, knowing people, defining love.
those moments where you realize that everything you're worrying about doesn't really matter.
getting wasted and regretting nothing.
dinosaurs. rawr.
video games. finally beating that one part that kicked your ass for so long.
that feeling when something finally just clicks.
philosophy. understanding.
optimists.
irony.

and i could go on.
i enjoy all these things. i just need to learn to appreciate them more. let them triumph over the not-enjoyable things. stop wallowing.

Recently I've discovered that I love cooking. Not to be confused with eating mind you. I love browsing through cookbooks and magazines to find inspiration. I love carefully picking out all the ingredients and spending the evening making my dish perfect. I'm incapable of following one recipe. I usually end up combing two or three recipes in one. I have my friends eat everything I've made and critique it for me. They must get tired of me staring at them asking "what's it missing?". I go back and make it again a week later until I've tweaked it to perfection. I could have had a really horrible day, my back and feet ache, my head hurts but I'll still stand there in my shitty little apartment kitchen feeling totally relaxed an hour later making the best clam chowder you've ever had. My most recent dish is a Swiss holiday onion and bacon tart called a Swiebelwahe. Don't know how to pronounce it but it's delicious!

Hmmmm, I love being warm in my bed and reading all day and night long. It's rejuvenating for my body and soul even if it's not for my eyes.

I love having a day all to myself. I love being gloriously non-restrictively autonomous. I love driving alone. I love wandering around town alone. I love shopping alone. I don't want this everyday. One or two days a week is nice.

When people ask me this lately I say "daydreaming", because that's probably closer to the truth than anything else.

I need to pay attention more and figure out what I actually enjoy. I found it really hard not to list things I think I enjoy.

Maths. I enjoy maths. Questions that are difficult (but not so difficult I get frustrated) are so satisfying to solve.

Exploring. Places, theories, new music, trains of thought that don't qualify as theories. Not learning though - some things may stay in my memory, but if I consciously try to remember them, it stops being fun. I especially enjoy staying up late and researching things I'm interested in online (provided I don't have to get up the next morning).

Poetry.

Acting on impulse and whim.

People, psychology, philosophy. All that stuff.

That sounds godly. Any chance you'd share the recipe?

I enjoy that feeling when it becomes clear how things are related.
Seeing characteristic lesions through a microscope.
Exploring the neighborhood with my dog after I've moved to a new place.
Dive bars with Tom Waits and the Old 97s on the jukebox, a pool table in the back with high quality wooden cues that, somehow, never get stolen.
Jameson whiskey.
Acid cigars.
Catching Zulu coconuts.
Drinking shit well liquor at Spellcaster parties.
Road trips.
Sweetbreads at Bayona.
The Cherry Blossom Festival at the Botanical gardens.
Abandoned amusement parks, plantations, anything left in ruins.
Concerts in tiny venues.
Walking over bridges.
Books.

Nothing gives me more satisfaction then creating something.

If i can wake up the next day and look at it or listen to it and still like it. It's truly beautiful.
