"Mommy, how do I put it in?"
"You naughty boy."
"I just want to know how to make toast..."
"You're too young. You might start a fire or burn yourself."

Re: Unrequested advise

This one is for invaluable lessons and the other one is for valuable ones. Fair difference?

Re: Unrequested advise

you calling the lime in the coconut thing invaluable?

I was referring to the original post in this thread. "Where we post about the invaluable lessons life has taught us."

Re: Unrequested advise

thanks for the clarification.
edit: can't something unrequested be either valuable or invaluable?

Re: Insight of the day

Because you edited the post to which I replied after I had already replied to it, making my reply invalid? I think that's actually failing as an edit ninja! Would not a ninja get in and get the job done before anyone notices?

No, a ninja would invalidate your responses to make you appear insane.

He seemed to specify invaluable advice later in his post, and he defines the nature of the thread due to he is the thread creator.

Doesn't make my points invalid and no thread is immune to hijacking.

In the immortal words of Linda Richman paying homage to Voltaire,

"The Holy Roman Empire was neither holy nor Roman nor an empire. Discuss."

Re: Unrequested advise

I'm a car nut and I find British humour quite entertaining... The Stig is one hell of a driver... James May is hilarious... additionally it is visually one of the best produced programmes on television - check out the cinematography in some of the reviews...

Not to say that TG features many of the cars I like, nor is it an example of particularly sophisticated British humour... it's also getting worse with time (like many things it seems!) but compared to North American entertainment television it is head, shoulders, and torso above........

There are other shows that feature some of the TG presenters which I've really enjoyed, particularly "Oz and James' Big Wine Adventure"

My brother enjoys Top Gear and he is also obsessed with computers. Weird.

Not really, there are plenty of TG-loving computer nerds out there - see the forums at www.finalgear.com
