Do you think the fact that we are all INTPs is actually the reason we have a forum to talk about ourselves in the first place? We're literally analyzing why we analyze things to such extremes. Now I'm analyzing why we analyze why we analyze.

Does this make us vain that we care so much about understanding ourselves, or is this just another thing we want to learn about... And are we the only personality trait that analyzes ourselves so much?

(Oh, and I haven't looked for any other personality forums yet.)

Probably to improve loading times when people don't spoiler videos/pics.

Plus it's super fucking annoying having the post limit at 50 sometimes if the thread has lots of long posts.

Really, stop this personality type hype.. It's not about being intp, it's about having an interest in gaining wisdom, knowing that making right decisions is usually a product of prospecting nature.

I haven't always been an intp, and I'm already becoming something else. I became -somewhat consciously- an intp because it was the wisest "personality to wield" in a particular time and environment.

social interaction usually has an element of boasting or showcasing. in many situations this will be embedded in a common ambition, the exchange of information or the rivalry of kindred spirits. not so much here when it's all (well mostly) about saying some weird stuff about yourself. and when it's not we've all still got some weird theories of our own. appeal to authority or induction is hardly relevant. the ego-component becomes glaring and vulnerable. it's kinda cute.

You don't understand Typology. Your actual type is fixed - you have one or another and you can't change it. However you can obviously play act like another which is all you were doing. Sure, I can go to a party (or on stage) and pretend to be a raging extravert, but it doesn't make any difference, I'm still an INTP and can't do that for very long without becoming drained.

To the original post; INTP's are self obsessed characters. You might attribute this to the dominant Ti, but compare to ISTP's who have little self possession by all appearances. So I'm not sure why it is so, other than perhaps because we are so outside the norms, and combined with a auxilary intuition, are more concerned with finding a path. ISTP's find role models ready made for them.
