Re: Why am I bannned?

For the most part I agree. Limiting oneself unnecessarily is truly a tragedy. Perhaps I used the wrong word and instead of saying "not acceptable" I should have said distorted. Here is where I disagree. Certain limits should be applied to what the social norms are in comparison to the rest of the community. This has always been the case for civilizations. Take murder and rape for example. Obviously it is under a subjective basis on whether or not these values can and do work for every civilization, but to bring order to a standard of what is acceptable is what the ultimately goal is by enforcing rules that the majority finds of value. Surely if tomorrow the US past a law that stated that murder and rape are no longer against the law things would change. Maybe not immediately, it may take time. But the point is that certain limits work for the benefit for both the individual and the group.
Perhaps we are actually agreeing here. I have thought through morality to a fundamental level as well--weighing outcomes, intentions, practicality, survivability, and a utilitarian view of enjoyment. Now that is all intuitively known--allowing me to diverge from thinking about it all the time and going on to more creative endeavors. I suppose I've made my way across the bridge of blasphemy and heresy (in the context of both religion and societal norms), yet somehow have a personality that is accepted. I've gotten through the anxieties of not showing my true colors one act at a time until I came out of my shell completely--allowing my base survival instincts to be the purpose that my intellect serves. I found out that my true self is indeed not a danger to society, but it is the rebirth of my passion for life. The conqueror of my cynicism. The fuel to my fire.

But, what I am describing is not a thing where I just wait for bodily urges to happen. I have a lust that causes me to want to do things at all times.

This seems to resonate so deeply with me that I can hardly believe that this is what you believe!
I think life itself knows these things instinctually. It is the humans who have been alienated by thinking they have to commit to the style of life they were raised into that bring frustrations and confusion to the rest of the world--the madness always spreads, and it is people like us who are meant to stop it by clearing the air with an easily understandable explanation to help the frustrated and the damned--people suffering from the human condition.

Re: Why am I bannned?

Meaning exist in the human mind. The mind exist as part of reality the universe and everything. So objectively you exist as a subset. Meaning and your existence are inseparable. Meaning is a subjective manifestation of objectivity. Only that which exists exists.

It exists if you want it to exist, it will not if you don't.
I can create a meaning, I can take away meaning.
Or may be I can't, and it 'just' happens.
But even if there is meaning in existence there is no meaning of having any meaning,
but even that the mind can make it, if think of it.
The mind does a lot of stuff.
I don't disagree that meaning exists as subjective manifestations, but I don't think there is an objective reason or purpose of the whole totality, but there may be an ultimate purpose which itself will be purposeless because or as important as the purpose of a character in video game or a movie.
SO from the ultimate perspective: No reason, no purpose, no meaning.
But we like in subjective limited perspective, where there is duty, responsibility, and some meaningless meanings but still meanings nonetheless.
But still we can kick them out or accept them and neither is really right or wrong.

Congratulations you are inconceivably stupid.
as little weight as this carries seeing as i'm cc's irl friend and all, i must say you're the stupid one here; your entire stance is based on a fictional disagreement.

you initiated this debate by quoting a claim he made and explaining to him why it was valid as though it was invalid. hallmark stupid. furthermore you're evidently happy to explain totally obvious and contextually consensual stuff using many many words, while as soon as matters get a little nuanced and complex you immediately resort to ad hom. also hallmark stupid.

go punch a bag or rape a woman or play an xbox or whatever you do.

Re: Why am I bannned?

So freewill necessitates precognition (or something like it) but existing in a state outside causality also negates free will because although you may be free of causality the existence of your will becomes moot, if you can choose the optimal outcome every time you will choose the optimal outcome every time, your choice no longer matters because you're no longer making choices, you're just a cost/benefit calculator whose choices are thus determined by context.

Determinism is inescapable, no matter how you look at it the choices we make a made for reasons and those reasons are reactions to context, we're incapable of acting independant of context because action itself cannot be meaningfully taken without context, the whole concept of free will is totally flawed.

But we can't predict the future so a judicial system is required and we will continue to punish crimminals out of practical necessity under the false pretence that doing so is ethical.

There is no innate objective ethical standard.
I'm already inclined towards determinism but your argument that free will requires, and is nullified by, precognition is pretty interesting. It makes sense with my understanding and I can't find any flaws with it, currently.

...[atheists] are requiring much more faith than a person who claims there is a God
I thought Christians believed faith was a good thing. What I take away from this is being an atheist makes me better. Better at faith, and better at imagining buildings (cause the building in the picture kind of sucks).

The metaphor doesn't work though. I know there is something in one of the other rooms. There is either a toilet, or pee in the corner of the room, because I drink too much coffee and there's no way I can hold it in for the length of time it would take that theist to faith out what's in the rest of the building with his (or her) dramatically inferior faithing skills.

Tbf, that building looks more like a hallway with three rooms coming off it.. Their logic is as disputable as their picture. Coincidence? I think not.

Re: why atheists are stupid

Atheists are stupid because they accept being named by a term that gives theism a status of a self evident reference.

We don't (worry to) have a term to a non astrologer person. Why identify itself with a negative of theism?

Theism is pure illusion, it's just a kind of folk art expression. It's beyond me why we still have to discuss about it in a serious way.

Re: why atheists are stupid

About the OP we just didn't find any god (or divine interventions) at all in our observable universe.

So if some god exist beyond our universe, it's just the same we don't have any god at all. It's like you win 1 ton of gold, but you have to pick up it in Pluto.

The OP analogy is a total BS.

Don't know about you, but I am not named by this term. It's a term which describes my viewpoint where belief in gods is concerned. The term has relevance and significance to the same degree that belief in gods has relevance and significance. I am not giving anything to theists; I am simply recognizing the current state of affairs, and making use of a contextually appropriate term.

It was probably designed by God himself. I mean, look at how awkward the rest of creation is. Aside from the platypus, he hardly got any animals right. Well, maybe sloths were pretty well done too.

Atheism is a religion. Any belief system that brings peace of mind, has a common reference point for a community, and has an antithesis belief is more than likely a religion.

Religion states "god is X"
Atheism states "god is X"

No difference

Don't know about you, but I am not named by this term.
Did you ever talk with religious people? Yes THEY do name you as an atheist.

And since they created the term, it implies all the pejorative stuff (satanic, immoral, etc).

It's like to accept to be called a sinner.

And they are really puzzled when you don't accept be called an atheist, when they see you as one. It's very funny in social situations. LOL!

It's funny how there was no faith before people started questioning the existence of god(s), and how faith has become more and more important since.

Well then, following that description:
"Tomato is a fruit" and "Tomato is a vegetable" are two different religions. I am on team fruit, we hold our sermons every Tuesday and Friday at 6:12.

Atheism is a religion as much black/darkness is a colour.

Re: why atheists are stupid

The real reason why atheists are stupid is because logically, if the idea of God is stupid, and if God made atheists in his image (meaning, making them based on the idea of God), then they would be stupid, which they are because they can't see how this makes perfect sense and how well God fits in with the fact that they are stupid.

Atheism is a religion as much black/darkness is a colour.
Color is the perception given by the eye to the brain for one portion of the visible spectrum. The disbelief in god is the belief in the validity of the argument in favor of god. It doesn't matter if it is fruit or vegetable, the mere acceptance of the concept is validation.

if God is watching me, then i would try even more to piss him, but if god is not a kid, these stuffs are not supposed to offend it,
if some entity is watching me, why call it god, what makes god god?

God knows what the answer to that is.

Define God.
God defined.

A conceptual being projected by and for man who represents power, space, time, knowledge, and goodness beyond which man is capable, who is an ideal direction in which man wishes to move and who exists in reality as much as infinity exists in mathematics.
