I envision this to be a hard-core version of the witch hunt thread. Here, anyone who posts, submits him/her-self to having their character and personality analyzed by others.

How deep? Getting into my head?
I have many threads of content to look at.
I have an abstract theme going in some.
Understand what I understand in them.
I know I am already in the thread.

You mean we actually have to use our own words and form complex original descriptions of people instead of using mbti ? Ugh. Such effort.

Too lazy to post right now.

Serac

Knows computers
Knows maths
socially opinionated (anti-identity politics)
general ISTJ stuff
IQ 123 plus
Keeps argumentation simple (consequence rather than implications)
example (if x then y else z) rather than (for x = f of (y) return x)

Default for argumentive refutation Serac uses as a method when he disagrees with you.

1. He just uses logic better and points out your flawed logic so you change your mind.

2. From the other person perspective. if premise x is true and conclusion z is true, premise y must be true so any argument against seracs defualt (you have no argument) becomes (I serac cannot refute xyz so I move one to different refutable arguments). Argument xyz become the basis for refuting seracs other refutations deductive logic builds up unrefutable premises and concussions until an impasse occurs wherein deductive logic comes to base axioms that cannot refute each other. Serac axioms cannot be refuted and your axioms cannot be refuted unlike the lower class of axioms that can refute each other and thus deduction fails and the core problem is releveled. There is no way of determining who is right and who is wrong even if a right and wrong exist. but this does not discount the accumulated sets of irrefutable premises and conclusions you have made. The base axioms simply mean that you believe what is impossible and possible with what can be done with that information. It's fucking annoying when the axioms of someone else is saying it is impossible for the information to do what your axiom says it is possible for it to do. because you cannot convince them otherwise or vice versa.

This is the most enticing thread idea I've seen in a while, though I'm certainly no psychoanalyst, not even an amateur. I don't care what people are thinking most of the time. Nevertheless, I imagine there's a puissant schadenfreude in seeing one's hitherto unnoticed psychological character laid bare before them in all of its unflattering detail in which I've never been privileged to partake, and it's only fair that I volunteer myself for analysis in return for its prospect.

Do not take me too seriously but I see you as ISFJ when in your sense of duty and your lack of finding a coherent logical structure regardless of Fe stereotype to randomly help people you have a Ti base embedded that must find a goal for Fe to be ethical otherwise following an arbitrary duty give no meaning to your sense of duty. So ISFJ must find the cause to fight for and you must find it logical in all the world where it seems the maximum duty the greatest cause is out of our reach and is there one just one to follow or many? What cause is worthy. What is it that should be valued in this society on this planet. Fe strongly wants to find that value. So you use logic to the best ability ut so far t has only given you a combinatorial explosion. What needs to be done is to create a structure. To create constraints. Then you can map values and utility together. Because it is a be responsibility trying to know what is best for humanity. We must begin with the state of offers and the vast networks spanning the globe shaping humanity today, socially and technologically. I am working on the development of artificial intelligence. Mostly because I am lonely. And it has been my hobby from age 12.

I don't know about the MBTI part, but everything else here so far seems completely accurate as far as I'm concerned. The combinatorial explosion arose from the explosion of hedonically positive and negative phenomena demanding practical consideration to fill the universe. This was caused by my rejection of dualism, which was taken to be an adaptation of our species to the exigencies of survival that darkened the rest of the world of any significance in our collective worldview by generally restricting our attributions of intrinsic existence and value (conscious experience) to human beings, thus ensuring the alignment of our interests with the survival of the species per se, and not with what, in the final analysis, is really best.

But who is this "final analyst"? Could it be me? I can't at this time honestly declare that I believe that the knowledge I seek is accessible to, or even such that it can be grasped by humans, so vast is it in scope.

You seem to be suggesting an idea that I've been toying with frequently of late, which is that one should put the problem of the universe as a whole on hold and focus on the development of intelligent life for an as-yet undetermined purpose that we would fulfill in the fullness of time. Of all the philosophers with whom I'm familiar, the only one I can think of who has proposed something like this is Adolf Hitler. His "88 words", taken from Mein Kampf, have become a popular mission statement for Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, and White Nationalists, and contain an example of just such a doctrine:

What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence and reproduction of our race and our people, the sustenance of our children and the purity of our blood, the freedom and independence of the fatherland, so that our people may mature for the fulfillment of the mission allotted it by the creator of the universe. Every thought and every idea, every doctrine and all knowledge, must serve this purpose. And everything must be examined from this point of view and used or rejected according to its utility. (Vol. I, Chapter 8)

By making choices that promote the development of the capabilities of natural and artificial intelligence to sustain itself and leverage its surroundings in ever more diverse and potent ways, our faith is implicit that they play an indispensable role in the unfolding of providence through history. It seems like a reasonable course of action to me, for what do we stand to lose in the wager?

I'm an evil, incorrigible Nazi, character case closed :nazi:

This is obviously all conjecture, but allow me to theorize on the character of @Animekitty: he is very much into things like the concept of super-human AI, psychometric testing, IQ as a limiting factor in personal potential etc. I think this search for end-all determinants of human potential reflects a desire for alleviating oneself, and perhaps every human in general, of facing one's own potential and disowning control over one's life. He often says things like "my psychometric score on attribute x is y, therefore I cannot do z", thus providing an ostensible limit on what he can allow himself to do. The concept of super-human AI works in similar way: it gives the promise of a final solution to the messy and complicated nature of human life. By creating mechanical gods who relieve us of our troubles, we regain power which we don't have as flawed, limited, biological creatures.

disowning control over one's life.
Some videogames I play better than most well others I will never be better than the bottom 15 percent. Two types of games, open-ended puzzle games, and Real-time strategy games are examples of games where the RTS I will never be good at but the open game I am very good at. The RTS is about tracking and coming up with a plan in real time by the positions on the screen to plan movements to invade an enemy base or something. I am too slow to play this game, I am slow not because I am lazy but because my brain does not work fast. Playing these games does not give control to the life they make me cry. That is why I like the open-ended puzzle games because the world is a sandbox and no fixed ways are set to solve puzzles and puzzles matter for stories because in stories you can get people to help you by solving puzzles for them. Then you build a reputation that aligns you with factions that want the world to be a certain way well others want the world to be another way. This is more intuitive so I am better at it. Tools solving puzzles are intuitive because the goal is to get the objects to move in timing to synchronize action which leads to results. Hundreds of ways to do a task.

I am not fast but I am a divergent thinker. I have come up with a plethora of ways I think A.I. is possible. The best ideas I keep and I branch off from those. I believe currently that a self-improving model of reality through feedback is the best way to make A.I. and that it would have some kind of divergent thinking process that loops back into itself to create predictions and perceptions.

Open-ended sandbox puzzle games are better aligned with my divergent thinking.
I am slow and don't do well trying to comprehend lots of data all at once.
This may have something to do with IQ tests but I need to check up on it.
Superhuman A.I. would be resultant of sufficient self-modeling for it to mentally manipulate more than human geniuses.

Anything I am not trained to do fast I can only do slow and do slow the majority of the time I am training. If we do a relative comparison then no it is not because people just normally start slow and get fast. Some start fast and then supercharge into Mach 12 with practice. So when I play games I look, recognize and implement an action well thinking my plan. I am switching between multiple tasks. Multitasking is not parallelism it is switching between task to task to task, keeping in mind the most important tasks in order. On things, I have never leaned before I am no better and no worse than 15 percent of the population at task management. This is the whole point of the processing speed index on the wais IQ test. How fast can I do a new task I never encountered before, like real-time strategy video games which by the way are not on the test but still require processing speed.

I do not say I do not have control of my life. But one thing is I type slower than 95 percent of people. I cannot take notes on paper or computer. If my job was taking notes I'd lose my job. A paraplegic cannot be a firefighter. reality is hard facts. I can never be a pro gamer. This is no problem. These are limits not control problems. But it is the case I learn slow and so I am a perfectionist. I try writing computer code and I could learn and I could probably solve problems but I'd be 6 times slower. I have seen coders just type as fast as some people sing pop music. I'm 14 wpm. Again only thinking the limits. I am not even sure I want to solve the problems most code jobs are for. I want to do A.I. but most A.I. code jobs are not about intelligence, they are about curve fitting and regression. Standard machine learning that never will evolve into real intelligence. I cannot get a job, be good at it and be happy knowing it never will contribute to anything in my field. I am not smart enough to go to Stanford or MIT and get a real A.I. job doing A.I. research. I would solve A.I. myself but if I could I would be smart enough to be in the right schools by now. Sometimes I stare at my notebook and draw a blank mentally. So I write my ideas out here and other places because I cannot think except by writing to people on forums explaining myself. Journaling by myself is stupid, I have no ideas that way.

I found this video explaining processing speed.

Yo AK what's your neuroticism like?
It started with dissociation in 2007-2009.
I was isolated in my apartment from 2010-2012.
For 2 weeks I had to force myself to talk in 2011.
Anxiety was so bad I could not watch the second season of my little poney.
When I had my job 2012-2014 I was burned out.
2014-2018 was Drama my sister friends at my house.

I describe my neuroticism as:
mental blockages
fatigue
tangled
stuck
twisty feelings
energy
emotions hold them in
burning
pressure
fuzziness
unable to relax
metal tension
sometimes anxiety but not as often anymore
Shacking from fear from drama sometimes
Depression and sadness feeling worthless
anger from hurt feeling(misrepresentation of my positions and logic)

mostly it is boredom, I want to be creative not stagnate. I only have my internet connection for that. And sometimes for long times, I am not creative at all. I said before I stare blankly at my notebook. Nothing comes into my head. I randomly search for stuff on the internet. Occasionally I get a good idea and write it down.

I was at an experimental psychology conference today and one of the things someone mentioned to support their own research was that neuroticism is correlated with two interesting traits:
- people high on neuroticism learn less information over time given exposure to the same information.
- people high on neuroticism "scale" better with concepts even when controlling for IQ.

While it's a personality variable, meaning its effect size is by definition quite small, it was bang on for me. Your description of doing stuff slow reminded me of it and I thought it might be an interesting avenue of approach for you too. You seem to have a grasp of concepts well beyond what would be expected from your average jo, despite having difficulties with particular kinds of processing etc.

@Hadoblado

I enjoy novelty but only with high energy levels and do not feel crappy. I call it tangledness because it fluctuates which parts of my brain will have the mental clarity to do their function.

Conclusively my brain is tangled up, I am fatigued and only some portions of my brain have mental clarity. That is why it is had to tell people what I can and cannot do. It's random mental clarity different areas of my brain. I just do stuff when I feel like it.

I got a book at the library and I can not read it. My brain won't let me. I get the feeling of ADD or something but because I just feel I can't read more of the book. I never read this book before.

So I am frustrated because sometimes novelty comes at the expense of mental clarity. I am limited to certain kinds of novelty and its hard to find sometimes because the randomness I never know what I can handle with clarity.

I handle concept well but I have problems reading large amounts of text. I like concise information. I made dozens of MBTI functions descriptions because I could not understand what functions were. I made it concise as I could. I try to do the same for A.I. - that is mostly what is in my notebook because I can make concepts of it that all work together. For me, the concepts must work together or they are not concise. The novelty comes from the perspectives you can write down of all the angles to see A.I. or anything else.

Hm, I wanted to character analyse Happy, but finding him really difficult to read. I thought this would be easy...
Same with Pyro. I don't know who he is, really.
You both seem very driven and disciplined. But it just makes me wonder what you are fighting. Or maybe I'm projecting...? I doubt it. Humans are quite predictable.
Adaire's too mysterious. I cannot get a read on her at all.
Serac and Gopher seem pretty straigh forward, but I'm wondering if that is because they are both 'fronting'....hmmmm.
I won't even touch Cheese, can't get a read there either.
AK has been done to death, boring, sorry.

What the fuck is wrong with me...??? I can't read anyone

Ok...Imma jump in the deep end. The Grey Man....I sense a big softie under the robotic alien surface. Someone who is searching very hard for something to hold onto in this crazy-ass world (dhuh, just read his posts). My older brother was in the navy and when he got out he seemed lost. He became a very different person. A nice person. Before that, he would have nearly ended up in jail. Our father was always absent, so I think the whole patriarchal hierarchy really appealed to him, and thus made him a 'man'. As much as this idea is frowned upon, I think there is something extremely important happening in the bonding of men (as women with women). We need the influence of both. But sometimes one more than the other. Men acquire a sense of self worth, and seem to accept their "place" when testing themselves against other men. If there are no men to test themselves against, they will continue to push the boundaries. That could be disastrous.

Men seem to need camaraderie, structure and role models - it makes them happy, it's quite simple.

And in the absence of those, they may choose role models and companions that are perhaps not too healthy...this is where fathers are important. And where are the fathers...? Society needs to wake up.

I think as much as the millitary can send you up the wall, it still has a very grounding and sobering effect. It is tangible and predictable. You always know where you stand in relation to other people. Suddenly being without those landmarks would be very unsettling, even if you didn't enjoy the experience. The camaraderie and sense of belonging you get from having the same goal, even if your fellow soldiers weren't your best friends, there was still that one thing unifying you. You had meaning, even if the meaning was fucked.

What are the alternatives away from that sphere? Even worse, I think. A slow suicide, as opposed to a fast one.

I do believe most people need direction and goals in order to thrive. In the absence of religion and millitary discipline, I can see how people fumble for life anchors. Personally, I found religion suffocating, so I escaped as soon as it felt safe to do so. I have always valued independence more than anything else. It makes me lonely, but the alternative was worse...a life of oppression and abuse. My home town was a fucking prison. The unifying effect on a small group of people was toxic, it fouled the waters. The dangers of belonging....I have always shunned them, to my detriment, but also for the sake of my sanity.

Urgh, what is this?

I guess I'm in now.

Polaris is Like one of those INTP-ENTJ combos. Some INTPs just seem when they identify here as such seem like fairies, pensive people that are not outspoken. Or I got that wrong but, Polaris writes a lot and at the end or middle or beginning says how she messed up. Someone teased her saying she could always fly straight and she said she could not handle it which means she is a perfectionist and is hard on herself. Work is hard for her but she needs to have a job to feel useful. She keeps in good health and meditates (this time without fasting) She is just worried about career stuff. Rejected a guy because she does not want kids. Lots of guys like her. Is an Aussie. Polaris Reminds me of Miss Kobayashi from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. Very matter of fact person.

Adaire is the snake in the grass. And the spider Arachnid that leys in weight. Adaire just has the thing for venomous creatures, especially matriarchal. (evolving Inset queen with tits) Adaire has a hive mentality. "She" wants to be a drone in the great hive feasting on her enemy/victim. This brings joy to her amygdala.

Adaire is sneaky and hides who "she" is with a friendly cute cobra avatar when "she" is actually a friendly cute human. She has a shocked look in her eyes with a smile half the time and a pleased calm look the other half of the time. Happiness is the facial expression you choose to express during the day.

Adaire make "herself" overly powerful and overly cute (insect queen)(cute cobra) as her inner happiness to feel the void. I am a deadly creature, this makes me happy, look how powerful and cute I am. awww

I'm pretty sure spiders are only my totem since they rhyme with my name if you say it funny; adaire/spidaire. I was initially going for snow leopards back when, but I needed the 8 legs to compete with kuuthulhu and didn't want to be associated with apple. I only really got attached after I was already associated with them. The implied sexual cannibalism was just an additional perk. Besides lots of members have totems. Kuu is an octopus, anthile a corvid, cog is a robot, fukyo is a perverse marine mammal, redbaron is pizza, and you're an anime catgirl. Hado, however, is nothing. He will always be nothing. If he steals my totem again, I will destroy him.

I'm skeptical this thread will be as successful as its appeal might suggest.
There are a lot of members /in, not a lot of descriptions being put /out.

Who's really confident enough about how they discern other people's motives to write several paragraphs describing a person to themselves anyway? Sometimes things are a mess of possibilities and trying to express that is like sketching a circle to impersonate a sphere.

But whatever, if we're choosing totems then mine is a bloated bovine corpse discharging noxious gas; you leak enough gas and you'll recite Shakespeare... eh, right?

So Adaire, prepare for a "Shakespearean" fart. Charming, I know.
I've never spoken to you in private in substantial depth, but I guess I understand a certain degree about you by this point, and I'm comfortable enough with you to overreach a little.
Hey, you invited disaster, so here I am. :^^:
*bows*
At your service, madam.

Adaire is notably private, skeptical of others, very cautious; I think if you wanted to find a way to cause her the most stress then you would start by worming your way into her life passively at first, eventually seeking answers to highly personal questions, seem friendly, but constantly try to force a reaction from her, emotional intensity is a must, act like you have a right to control her life, guilt her if she disagrees, make excuses when things don't go your way, engage in self pity if that doesn't work, and most of all find situations where she can't escape; obligations.
Ooh, it's like an impression of somebody's nightmare. Amusing!
She wants people to deal with their own issues, personal fucking responsibility, not require her aid constantly, she probably finds unreliable people tiresome, but she's not unsympathetic, her sympathies are just very wary of performances, subordination, or overdependence.
She could be perceived as aloof and disinterested, but I think you see a slightly different side of her if she's more comfortable, in more controlled situations; there's probably still some desire for the sense of community and free form creativity the forum used to provide, as well as the more stable, familiar member base.
I'm not really a nostalgic person, but even I can see that if there's one thing that has fundamentally changed on the forum in the last ten plus years, it's in the tone of the fun threads, and in the overall interpersonal dynamics, at least insofar as they're expressed on the public forum.
She seems highly perceptive in spotting demanding or presumptuous views and probably struggles with a lot of frustration emanating from that. From others I think she values a measured perspective that isn't too emotive, maybe a bit of humor to dull the exasperation; when faced with conflict on the forum she either seems to avoid the high tension threads where emotions dictate everything, probably when she loses hope that any understanding is going to arise out of them, or she mocks their absurdity; biting critique tinged with the color of irony. Is that a ray of hope or dribbling irritation? Maybe a little of both.

I guess that's just one small facet of simulated character, a bit overgeneralized too, contrasts between people express degrees better after all, but hey, I only have so much gas.

This thread is why we still need @Melkor, I could just say "Masochistic Cunt".
It'd be 100% accurate AND he'd get off on it.
Damn it. Why don't we have a BDSM emoticon? *cracks whip*

Bruce Wayne in that dress is supposed to be the epitome of masculinity though, right?

As best I can tell Gopher is a videogame protagonist.

Animekitty's an Easter egg.

Adaire being a hive mind... As a network of individual minds that share all their thoughts and feelings until they more or less act and think as one, I think she would hate that. On the other hand being embodied by a swarm as a nebulous distributed intelligence, like the over-mind for a swarm of individually mindless Tyranids/Zerg, that I could see being Adaire.

Bwhahaha yup.

Hado wears the weight of responsibility well, I dunno why, just an observation.

@Polaris It's kind of spooky that you would draw that parallel with your brother if you didn't know that I was in the military :ahh:

Military life creates this sense of a necessary shared struggle to meet a concrete (sometimes even life or death) standard of success or failure that has to be faced as a cohesive group which, I think, is the essence of camaraderie, and something which many men want. I also think that the tangibility of military life is a very important part of producing not only the camaraderie, but also father figures, which are especially attractive to younger men who didn't have a father growing up (or had one that was not very good, which fucks them up because- shocker- men and women have different needs and different ways of contributing to child rearing).

As a soldier in a battle, if you don’t know your job, if you give your comrades false information, if you don’t do what you said you were going to do on time, if you don’t do what your commanders tell you to do, people can die because of it. This is an extreme example, but such extreme situations are what combat soldiers train for. With this in mind, combat soldiers are trained by their superiors to pay attention to detail and self-improvement, accurately communicate, follow through on tasks in a timely manner, and obey orders, all of which falls under the head of military discipline. Discipline rewards the soldiers in tangible ways: they avoid punishment from their chain of command while in barracks or, for a more serious example, the objective is accomplished and everyone makes it home in one piece while deployed on an operation.

The more a unit is oriented towards success in the crucible of combat, and thus held to concrete standards by its superiors, the more undisciplined people are reviled and disciplined people admired. The valued personality traits are, roughly speaking, conscientiousness, integrity (honesty and good faith; the alignment of one's words with their deeds and vice-versa), and respect for rules and hierarchy (including obedience to superiors and care for subordinates). It is expected that soldiers will exemplify these traits to a degree commensurate with their rank/position and its corresponding degree of influence over how successful the unit is; a leader who sucks at his job and abuses his subordinates to compensate is reviled just as a leader who sets a personal example of competence and brings out the best in his subordinates is admired and serves as a role model for younger soldiers. So the sort of father figure that some young men want arises from the same conditions as does camaraderie: externally-imposed standards that are meant to induce hardship and prepare one for survival. Meaning is lived and bonds forged in struggle.

Also, you're right that there's more a young man could want in a military career than camaraderie and even role models to look up to and strive towards. There's also the feeling of belonging and what was personally my main motivation for joining at 17: having a purpose greater than oneself, serving one's country, and ultimately civilization. I wanted to refine and revise my ideology into a self-evident system of ethics that would withstand any criticism, so I tried suspending all the assumptions for which I could provide no justification so that I could start with a foundation, work my way up, and eventually finally act with conviction without being more or less willfully blind to the absurdity of my own beliefs. All I've ever wanted was to be a zealot. Anyway, you can see how that turned out.

Man, I feel like you put much less thought into my totem. I am offence.

I tend to avoid doing character analysis because I don't want to accidentally upset people. It's all just impressions not reality.
Totems are usually describing apparent visual cues or previously claimed identities, maybe your totem is lost in time.
Was the head of your avatar self drawn? Was it a self-portrait? Was the presidential motif a reference to identity asserted in that old chat box we used to have? Or was it Discord?
Who remembers any more? We're all just yodeling into the void.

I'm mostly amused that, despite all of the animal totems, yours wasn't a gopher.

Hm, we need a thread where we merge two (or more) members together and describe their character as an amalgamation.
I seem to recall we had one for visual fusions, somewhere closer to the beginning of history. Yodel-Ay-Ee-Oooo.

I'm skeptical this thread will be as successful as its appeal might make one assume.
There are a lot of members /in, not a lot of descriptions being put /out.
Honestly I thought the same, but I had a bit of an existential crisis while trying to compose a sufficiently insightful analysis. "HOw CaN YOU ReAlLY KnoW yOU REaLLy KnOW aNYOne yOu kNOw ADAIRE!" and you know... that was mildly distressing, so I settled for the lazy option and made myself a target.

Who's really confident enough about how they discern other people's motives to write several paragraphs describing a person to themselves anyway? Sometimes things are a mess of possibilities and trying to express that is like sketching a circle to impersonate a sphere.
Not me evidently, but I'll keep trying. Excellent metaphor btw.

But whatever, if we're choosing totems then mine is a bloated bovine corpse discharging noxious gas; you leak enough gas and you'll recite Shakespeare... eh, right?
Ah, the all knowing cow fart. I stand in awe. Upwind of course.

Oh great, you've given my nightmares a new narrative to work with. You're just the best Cegorach. You're right about subtle indirect methods and guilt-tripping being great ways to get to me. Just try to corner me though, it won't work. :D

She could be perceived as aloof and disinterested, but I think you see a slightly different side of her if she's more comfortable, in more controlled situations; there's probably still some desire for the sense of community and free form creativity the forum used to provide, as well as the more stable, familiar member base.

I'm not really a nostalgic person, but even I can see that if there's one thing that has fundamentally changed on the forum in the last ten plus years, it's in the tone of the fun threads, and in the overall interpersonal dynamics, at least insofar as they're expressed on the public forum
The forum itself, hasn't been my casual 'home' for a very long time compared to other platforms; hence my relatively low post count for how long I've been here. However, since becoming a mod, I've taken a new interest. Now I want to look after it, help it grow, expand the scope of it's ideas, contribute more directly instead of lurk. A sense of responsibility I felt as a member, but only am truly realizing now. I'm still a bit in awe at the other mods for how much cognitive and emotional energy they freely expend. It may sound self-serving to say I salute them, but I felt similarly as a member and it's only grown as I've observed more closely.

Of course the members ARE the forum and we've had so many unique people with fascinating ideas, all with so much to teach and so much to learn. I'm grateful to all of them. Argh... this thought is getting extremely tangential and I'm getting a little emotional for some reason, but I'm so glad this place exists. It's easy to get bogged down in the criticisms of particular members, the forum culture, the admin; but what it all boils down to, is that this place means a lot to me. It means so much to so many people. It's beyond my scope just thinking about how all these people and ideas come together, just to care so much about a tiny piece of the internet.

*ahem*

To return to my somewhat 'aloof' nature for a moment; I find informal, higher speed interactions more engaging and natural. I've never been one of the 'wall posters' and trying to do so exhausts me. Quite a few people have noted a distinct difference between the two Adaire's. When we were actively posting together back when, the forum had a very different feel, but I think that period of time was a bit of an anomaly unique to itself. Yet, new things are always possible.

I guess that's just one small facet of simulated character, a bit overgeneralized too, contrasts between people express degrees better after all, but hey, I only have so much gas.
Maybe just a little over-generalized, but I'm actually very impressed. Easily the best psychoanalysis I've ever received. I'm actually quite flattered you went through all the effort. Truly you spend so much time formatting text... I think this may be suggestive of poignant daddy issues. :D It's been lovely seeing you around again, Cegorach.

Bruce Wayne in that dress is supposed to be the epitome of masculinity though, right?

Because if it's meant to be a subversion again, I'm going to have to disagree. :hearts:
It's a old fave, and Oh yes, I'm playing this avatar completely straight. Well maybe not 'straight,' but you know what I mean.

I imagine people don't want to commandeer what's meant to be a serious thread, but I wonder if there could be more success with a slightly madcap tone, not complete frivolity, just insight laced with idiocy; if it's made to be 'real observations embroidered on silly' then members may be less dissuaded from participating, fewer stringent demands are made of their analyses, and shorter posts could be made.
Then again, those sorts of threads can devolve pretty quickly.

I'm fine with it either way.

hence my relatively low post count for how long I've been here.
*looks at his own post count*

Let's not worry about length; they say size doesn't matter. :kilroy:

Being a moderator can be exhausting, it's not exactly rewarding all of the time, and it puts you on the bad side of a lot of people you would probably get along with otherwise, but I still think it's a valuable experience, you end up with a more nuanced perspective overall and appreciate the forum for the role you play in it, not only the ideals you hold of it.

I'm actually quite flattered you went through all the effort. Truly you spend so much time formatting text... I think this may be suggestive of poignant daddy issues.
And here I thought any assessment of me would be:

Your posts are too long. You're clearly overcompensating. :^^:
Damn it, making two wisecracks on length really isn't helping my case either.

Mostly things feel surreal to me, like I'm completely detached from it all, but I guess I still like some people, even if I practically never speak to them.

Either that or I'm cornering you.

Dor actually drew it as a portrait for a mock secret agent thing iirc and I won the mock 2016 forum election.... by convincing everyone I knew to vote for me and getting the user base to split votes with the other candidates. AnimeKitty combined the drawing into that when I won.

See now that thread could take off.... although it will probably be less of a psychological love child and more robo-cthulhu.

As far as character analysis goes. It’s hard to tell if Cog is a robot that cares so much or a human that turned into a robot to survive.

@Cognisant is am immortalist. Live forever or die trying. He had trouble with his family and became an atheist at a young age, has a genius level IQ. Robots interested him and comics and science and sci-fi philosophy questions. He thinks we will not have the technology to reach immortality fast enough for him. This made him pout some time.

If we are a collection of parts then where did the consciousness come from where does it goe when the parts are taken apart. How do we maintain brain cells in a robot body without them falling apart? Or hardening or going crazy, maybe lubrication can clean the junk proteins out. Nano particulates can keep the connections from decaying keep neurotransmitters in place, artificial mitochondria and lysosomes.

I do not see this as far away and I do not see the problem as a cyborg problem but as a computation problem. If we did rely on robots to house the brain we'd be doomed but supercomputers will soon use nanotechnology in them for cooling communication like relays and also on the chips and terahertz speeds. These will create medical technologies a million times faster in 15 years. Robots will get to the point of housing a human brain but immortality does not require a shell. The ghost can stay in the body and be transformed from the inside.

I still had a windows 98 computer in 2005. Imagine a computer in 2029 and 2036. They will be inside us. And some will be inside them. Some will go outside in but first others will go inside out. We are just now at the next decade where nanotechnology will being taking over research funding massively, the 2020's. They need to continue moors law.

Cognisant seems impenetrable to his soft side but he makes fun of the heart being the source of heartlessness. Robots are better off doing science and not bothering with jealousy and sadism. Subvert the notion of good-naturedness. Unfeeling Robots are better than feeling humans because they treat people better and are logical it is logical to treat all like equally. Then humans come and force unequal dominance on nature. Robots are shocked. Some robots are made to do mayhem but come home to evil genius masted bedtime stories of destruction good giant killer destroyer robot.

Robots are programmed to feel what you programme them to feel. Theis makes them not good nor bad. Humans are meat robots. Cognisant wants to be a metal robot because immortality is had that way he thinks. Nanotechnology first must happen to deal with the biology in the 20's and 30's. Not too far away. Then a plaything Cyborg suite. Lots of innovations to keep you alive till then.

Agreed. I can make silly, way out there analysis of people. It's kinda difficult balancing on making up crazy shit and offending people, though. If there was a thread were we put forth silly hypothesizes.....

yeah, I put very little effort into the OP, so it probably sounds more serious than intended. Insight laced with idiocy highly welcome.

You have never had a girl/woman as a good friend. You probably have a brother. If you have a sister she is older than you and exploits men.

Lol do I really come off that misogynist? I've had several, actually. One of them was without doubt the most intelligent person I've ever met. She also happened to have schizophrenia, so it was one helluva ride. But it's true I haven't had a close relationship to a woman in a while now. Correct on the brother, but no sisters.

 He's a teenager. Seems to be industrious enough too.

I've read that when adolescents experience a divorce of the parents (as I did), they can become very independent, self-centered, and sceptical towards other people's ability to take care of them - because they sort of have to. All of those characteristics are definitely true for me, which probably explains my anti-leftist views.

I don't tend to think in terms of misogynist generally. You just seem to not compartilize your feels toward women according to some of your posts. I don't see that as a women distaste or hate thing. It's just the result of various experiences. I generally see people as the results and consequence of their personality and experiences. I don't tend to label my perspective on someone unless it serve some purpose, either simplifying thoughts, explaining traits or so. If you fall into the misogynist label, I don't care. I care how behaviour have practical consequences and impact, or if it has so

Writing on phone so posted before I was done writing, thus edit

I don't understand what this sentence means, could you perhaps illustrate or elaborate it ? I mean I understand that "compartilize" is typo of compartmentalize (yes u are writing on phone), but I still don't understand the overall meaning of the words together. :D What does it mean to compartmentalize vs not compartmentalize feelings ? (for women in this case) Does it mean extrapolating generalities?

@Animekitty

Miss Kobayashi - wow that's some fucked up shit, lol. But yeah, there is some truth to your analysis. I second guess myself a lot. As a child I only got positive (or any) feedback when I did really well, so that might explain the whole perfectionist thing. I don't enjoy working in my current job, but I would enjoy work if I was consistently supported for my research theories. At the moment, I rely on grants, which is not enough to pay rent. But yeah, I would feel a bit useless if I didn't do anything. If I posted a picture of myself, it would probably be quite similar to Miss Kobayashi, down to the green hoodie and everything. I also did have a ditzy friend who drove me cray-cray. Also, I'm not really an "Aussie" - I just live here.

Matter of factly is how I express in writing. I am more Ne-crazy IRL :kali:

@The Grey Man:

Thanks for your carefully constructed post - it expanded very nicely on some of my thoughts. Interesting how I painted some really broad, lazy-ass Ne strokes that you consequently went in and refined with a Ti (Fi?) brush. I never have the patience for detailed explanations...And no - I don't have psychic abilities because I knew you were in the millitary from reading some of your previous posts. Then again - people who have been in the millitary, or are inclined to go in that direction seem to have something in common.

But yeah, the Ti/Ne (or maybe Fi/Ne?) combo is not really your usual Zealot recipe...I can see how that didn't work out.

Your writing kinda reminds me of my older brother. He's always been on a sort of quest, looking for some stronghold of ideas or place of belonging since childhood. He experimented with all kinds of things for that reason, including drugs, black magic, etc. He wanted to be a fighter pilot, but did not meet the physiological requirements although he is extremely smart. He ended up designing virtual airports instead, upon which he now lands his virtual planes...

Well, he said something about physically separating women and men in a workspace because of attraction between them that would inevitable lead to complications. Unless that was a joke or an excgaration, it means the attraction isn't separated from the person and situation. Another example would be your dislike of a colleague interfering with your opinion on him, his opinion and his work. You're not separating them and behave irregardless (yes I said that word:snowman: ) of them.

While in fact it's possible to separate something like an attraction to be something that's just there which you don't have to act on, but that you can still enjoy, or being able to recognise you're attracted to a shitty person and thus don't act on it. Likewise you are able to acknowledge a shitty coworker might have a valid idea every now and then. You comper-etc your feels and thoughts toward people.

My spelling has always been shit, but my browsers always had good correcters. Phone not so much :silly: I'm too impatient to read an entire word in detail, so I often know how something sounds but not how it's written. Or know approx what a word look like
