How many of us would have been able to survive to our current age 2000 years ago?

No electricity.

Very little/no medicine or surgery.

Necessity for physical aptitude.

This should be nice and uplifting!:D

I guess life wouldn´t be very different. Mankind hasn´t much evolved in the last ten thousand years. That what we call civilization and culture, that is just knowledge passed on. Nothing special.

Well, I know pretty much about agriculture and botany. I know which plants are useful and I even know how to build a well. Maybe I would share my knowledge with other people but most likely I would just become an hermit.

16? I'd have managed, I imagine. I'm not sure if I'd live within the Roman Empire or not, that might be a little further south.

Roman empires had books. I'd pretend to be an eunnuch, and get a job as a scroll-copier outer person.

If I survived a sickly childhood, I'm sure I would have become a watchman on some frontier outpost for the glorious empire.

Barbarians at the gate!!

You could have defended against them by flinging poo...:D:D

I findn this question not really answerable. I mean, it would really depend on how i would come to be in that situation. Is it Now-Me gone to the past, is it Past-Me, born in that Age? To what circumstances...

Maybe I'd get to see trees for firewood
Maybe I'd hunt
Maybe I'd grow my own food
Maybe I'd be a slave

I know I'd live, but I don't think I'd enjoy it mainly because I'm female, and you only have access to education and books if you're rich. All they'd expect of me is male heirs and good meals. They wouldn't appreciate me for anything else.

And I'd be married with a kid by now, probably. Scary thought...

I'd be a well respected witch within my Celtic tribe. So long as we evaded the Romans I'd be fine.

As to survival in general I have the skills to produce food, fibre and shelter. I could do to refresh on herbal lore (basic medicine).

I'd probably become a druid. That might be fun. Or not, what with the bit where you get killed by the Romans, and all... Maybe I could become a Romanised Briton and live in a nice villa in the lowlands. I could call myself Iordanus Laurentius!

Are we referring to survival alone in a wilderness or in a primitive society? In the former case... I grew up in a forest so I can make a fire and fish and stuff like that, but I hope never to end up in such a situation. In the latter... A scholar. No doubt about it. If there were no books, I would write the first.
