They are all.

Spelled.

Wrong.

SEE?

It says 'Dispay' when it's supposed to be 'Display'.

Or is that just me and I'm really going insane? D: Is there any way to fix this? Has anyone else pointed this out?

Ah, woe is me. ;///;

The problem is not the spoiler,
but the fact that you think it's
spelled incorrectly.

Why the fuck did you have to point this out?!? I had never noticed it before either, and now I can't take my eyes off it. Ignorance is bliss as they say, and I was blissful until you came along with this nitpicking bullshit and now I'm fucked as well. Thank you VERY much sir:mad:

Testing if it's still there

Edit: Fuck, yeah of course it is. Shit.

The problem is easily solved by organizing your own perception of language to accommodate the idea that, henceforth, dispay = display.

True. All wrongs can be made right by redefining right to include things that used to be wrong. See also: Politics.

Does anybody else find it oddly discomforting that, as far as I can tell, nobody noticed that fairly obvious spelling error?

"Dispay"? I noticed that a long time ago but ignored it. I've learned from being on this forum that INTPs are a superior race of being. Anyone who can't spel a word in more than one way is not being kreative.

Lol, that's what I thought. I looked and I really didn't see anyone that noticed it. I wondered if it was simply a glitch on my computer, or my brain, but apparently not.

EVERYTHING MUST BE SPELLED CORRECTLY GIANT SQUID OF ANGER. ._. :storks:
J/k. But really, I wish it were fixable.

'Dispay' is short for 'dispay attention'. In other words, "don't look here". So, in fact, it is not a spelling error after all, just misconception due to abbreviation.

I knew it. I knew there was a hidden meaning. Never dawned on me what it was and you've discovered it!

Cory I think I knew someone once who shared your concern. Creating another thread to attack this could bring relief???

If only we had a thread devoted to addressing the subject of sex. It IS a concern. I think it was set up to propagate the species but now we are no longer so sure as we have already witnessed a modest quantity of propagation. Don't you think?

An understandable misconception, considering the action of the button displays the otherwise hidden. 'Spoiler' should be enough to suggest "dispay attention" to anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, right?

While your interpretation is certainly comforting, I call bullshit.

INTPs are so able to detect the hidden meaning of things ... has one wondering why they don't rule the world.

You probably have to come out of your bedroom or the library in order to rule the world.

And I'm not sure why anyone smart would ever want to be in charge. Look at Obama: It's a thankless job and detracts from one's own thought processes and world explorations.

It's nice and warm here. I have the heat on.

I would send the other guys out to take the brunt of the action. Then I'd wait and study to see if they did it right. If not, I'd send them out again with a correction.

In this case I'd send someone over
who is first to volunteer?
to Claverhouse to check out if this damn spoiler can be fixed. I'd wait to see if he says the programming is out of our hands or not.

Hidden meanings? Ironic. The misspelling was not hidden and the word was "Display", and yet a select few noticed it? If hidden is what is not hidden, then what are hidden meanings? Is the standard of "hidden" based on the idea that some see vague meanings in an object and yet are still able to see its obvious properties, in which case "hidden" is a matter of superior vision? Or is a perception focused on vague implications encumbers itself in that it is less able in the detection of the object's concrete form, in which case "hidden" is relative? what is 'hidden'?

I say we change it, because life in general is enough of a dedication to that.

And it bothers me. As previously stated.

How exactly would you change it ?

Short of hiring someone to disassemble the code of the Hack and insert an 'L', or contacting the author to have him update his Hack --- which would be unanswered, for he surely knows by now, and has made his peace with it --- the only course would involve disabling it and substituting another VB spoiler Hack. Rather the same as rejecting a working car because of a centimetre scratch on a side-window and demanding the door be taken off and fitted with new glass.

As has been mentioned before, the author is French, and a lapse in any language foreign to one is pardonable. I see the words for Display in that language are: 'découvrir, étaler, exposer, afficher, montrer'.

We are lucky he didn't simply put Exposer.
