Spirals in the sky over Norway

Heard about this? Weird spirals were seen in the sky over Norway recently:

And no it's not fake.

They think it was caused by a failed missile launch. I'm not convinced. What do you think?

Like no one had ever seen a real missile launch failure..

This isn't really a fake either, strangely enough, just a 'filtered' version...

My diagnosis: weird magnetic thingummy thing.
Perfect storm effect combining cosmic rays, solar wind and posistion of earyths magnetic field to create a formation of magnetic field lines and an aurora borealis effect which appears from earth to be a spiral

I do not buy that explanation, the trajectory does not appear to match the model. Plus there is the question of whether the coherency and momentum of mere gases could form a perfect spiral (?) from an origin of a rapidly moving object? It would be interesting to see if the visual effect could be duplicated by the manipulation of an actual rocket (perhaps a hobbyist's model rocket?) or perhaps there is a video of another rocket doing the same thing. One can create all sorts of unrealistic scenarios on a computer screen...
