Ti requires one to accept information as truth.

Te does not require one to accept information as truth, because it inherently is truth.

If someone told me Bob was at a party and I agreed and believed it, I made Ti judgment because it would not be a logical contradiction for Bob to not be at the party. The person could have lied or Bob could have left or never went.

If Bob died at the party and someone told me and I didn't believe it, I again made a Ti judgment. However, the statement, Bob died at the party is a Te judgment. It does not require me to accept it, he still died at the party.

To judge something, via external standards, as truth is not the same as truth. It is, however, more assumed upon as oppose to introverted judgment.

Think in terms of your own Fe, have you never failed in judging the ethics of your surroundings?

Key word is "Judge". It is a "function" ---f(x). A tool. "A tool is only as good as its user."

'More assumed upon' because the judgment would be consistent when tested, no? This is what I give to truth. But I think I understand what you mean. Consistency != Truth

My Fe is weak and therefore cannot judge what is most consistent (and appropriate) in terms of ethics/feelings. But even if it was strong, Fe judgments, would not necessarily be true for all situations, correct? And this is where personal conflict arises.

Oh btw, all of this debate and study has completely evolved my understanding of psychological types. So thanks for that, Icee (I'm calling you that because it's short, and ICEEs are amazing). I definitely don't hold MBTI with the same regard that I did before, and I understand the Ti, Te, Ni, Ne functions leagues better than I did before.

I've arrived at something entirely my own, which I think is what everyone should do. I also think that was your point in creating this thread, so you can consider it a success. ;)

Yes. It's like current science. :pueh: Te gives more credit to empirical data, and with purpose since it helps the application-minded.

The personal conflict between strong belief and truth? Which conflict are you referring to?

Great, I just wish Jung could have been more detailed, but I guess then we wouldn't have what we have today.

Personal conflict between the offender and the offended. Fe assumptions vs actuality. I guess throwing that in at the end was kind of superfluous.

When I was started studying socionics I ran into the issue of associating with INFj profile according to some websites and INFp profile according to other websites. Then I discovered that socionics actually had several branches and these branches did not agree with each other over terminology. Essentially, there were several Russian socionists and they were not in agreement with each other over letter, function, and descriptive profile assignments. And then all this information got translated into English and of course English speakers were not completely aware of what was going on in Russian socionist community so there now exists mess in information that made it into English.

This is why I decided that I am going to try to stick to one source and picked that to be Wikisocion where conversion is very simple: for all introverts the last letter is inverted as last letter corresponds to dominant function. So INFJ with dominant perceiving function of Ni becomes INFp. Functional order of INFp is same: Ni-Fe-Ti-Se aka the intuitive (I) ethical (E) introvert (I) or IEI. And INTP becomes INTj having judging function Ti as dominant aka logical (L) intuitive (I) introvert (I) or LII. I've read the definitions of function in Wikisocion and they are very similar to those in MBTI. True they are not identical, but neither are all the of the MBTI functional descriptions available from different books and websites identical to each other. For me strong similarity will do.

LII's profile very strongly resembles that of INTP in MBTI: http://www.wikisocion.org/en/index.php?title=LII

No. This is the greatest mistake in Socionics you could ever make.

Thanks to the16types.info for this one.

An excellent, comprehensive ebook on Socionics theory by Grigoriy Reinin, one of the earliest Socionists, who personally worked with Augusta:

There are introductions, personality/behavior descriptions and also technical information that may interest you. This has not been crossed with MBTI, so read the book for yourself and find what Socionics type you identify most with.
