Or "Are you ILI or LII?". I'm sorry if this was discussed before, I searched and didn't find any recent threads. Next two paragraphs are quite self-centered, so skip them if you don't care for it.
So, the first time I've heard of socionics, I've just assumed I must be INTj (or LII) since their main functions are Ti-Ne. Recently I've taken a test though, and came up as INTp (with significant result for p). My first instinct (as always) was to doubt the test (INTP using Ni-Te? Really?), but I've decided to read about it. Wikipedia said INTp relates to both INTx types in MBTI. I moved on to functions and their roles. They didn't really fit. Just to make sure, I've decided to read their socionics descriptions...
... and realized they weren't the same as in MBTI, even though both were supposedly derived from Jung's (I wonder how much of it is interpretation?). Taking care not to mix them with what I think of cognitive processes in MBTI way, I've analyzed how it relates to functions position. It fit completely. So, I decided to read on LII and ILI types. Some parts of the latter description hit home (ultimate skepticism and relativism), just as some part of INTP profile (more precisely, emotional chameleon) did when I first learned of MBTI. LII did not. Other aspects of socionics hinted for it as well.
I am ILI?
Scaring realization, for some reason... but there's a lot of LII INTJs on INTJf. So this is both widely accepted and met with (not complying with P -> j, J -> p "rule"). So, it shouldn't be that uncommon.
This triggered another question - one I've seen discussed here several times - of what makes some INTPs different from others (mainly INTPs from this forum). Then there are INTJs (though scarce) who prefer this forum. Can socionics type be related to that? What type are you?
