haha well, I am proud of my heritage but only describe myself as irish if asked about my family history. As far as mississippi, you have no idea how hilarious it is to hear someone describe it positively. Granted it has a few good people and I enjoy the lack of crowds. The college I'm in is pretty decent, but after graduation I plan to move on.
We're pretty much one of the worst states in the U.S., lots of backwards folk (lingering racism and a lot of religious foolishness), small towns mostly rural, 2 or 3 cities worth visiting.. maybe. Obesity, we're #3 or 4. Same with teen pregnancy, high school dropout rate, the list goes on..
Just to piss of Morgoth I think I'm gonna go buy a bottle of scotch, a bag of potatoes and wear a green/white/orange shirt and go around claiming to be irish

Oddly enough this wouldn't be much different from a normal day for me .. haha
Course we're almost all immigrants over here, so usually the only way to belong to a unique culture is to go a few generations back. 'American' kinda got claimed by the native americans ya know.
