Sexually frustrated seal accosts penguin

De Bruyn and a colleague were on Trypot beach at Marion Island to study elephant seals when they noticed a young, adult male Antarctic fur seal, in good condition, attempting to copulate with an adult king penguin of unknown sex.
The 100kg seal first subdued the 15kg penguin by lying on it.

Zoophilism is a qualificative for intelligence?

It wouldn't really be bestiality, seeing as there was no human component to the two score and five minute copulatory interaction. Then again, zoophilism is defined as being a sexual attraction to animals, therefore categorising all non-asexual animals as zoophilists. Is there not a word for animals that attempt to breed with a different species?! How frustrating.

Time to invent one, in case it doesn't exist.
