7/10 It's always nice when a band cares about their lyrics, but I was never able to groove to RATM

I was like: "this reminds me of scrubs" *looks to the right* oh.

5/10. It was perfect for that kind of show, (I discovered The Coral through it too, who I really like now) judging by others posts people are rating via their own personal tastes though, and it's not my kind of aesthetic. (:

Short and sweet.

5/10...a bit meandering for my taste, but reasonably well executed.

And now for something completely darker.

7/10, it was actually okay although "indie rock" isn't really a category I'm into.

Not usually in the mood for that sort of music, though I have been listening to and enjoying Eyedea & Abilities a bit lately. This, however, is probably just some rebellious phase which I will soon outgrow.

That was pretty good. I have the BSBD album A Heap of Broken Images for a while now but haven't really given it a proper listen. Perhaps I should.

Alcest - Summer's Glory - YouTube

From Alcest's very new album Les Voyages De L'Âme

Boring harmony most of the time and all together a pretty monotone tune (upon listening through the whole thing I retract the statement of monotony), but I can appreciate the timbre of the vocals and the overall atmosphere as at times laid out by the synth and reverberant guitars. For me it became much more interesting and pleasant at 3.36 onwards. Overall I'd give it a 6-7 depending on my mood.

This is music one must really listen to as it is fairly complex. The whole album is one long continuity, divided by 24 sections, this is one of them and by listening only to one the ending my feel a little abrupt.
The whole thing is based off a 60 min. drum improvisation which has been used as the foundation for the composition.
I like it because every time I listen to the album I hear something new, or tune in on some element which I haven't been too aware of earlier. Also, I really appreciate rhythmic complexity and here I get that in bunches :) The whole thing is also as dynamic as some classical pieces, only that it is sat in a more modern setting. Perfect. I don't think too many people can appreciate this however, as it is pretty "out there" depending on what your background is.
Oh, and the fact that Alex has done everything (arranging, recording, laying the tracks) except the drums is just sick.

Annoying whiny voice. Disjuncted lyrics and arrangement. It doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities. Yeah, pretty bad. It could have been okay, but it seems like it was written and performed by pretentious tarts, which usually ruins things. Probably 15% more bad than the average song, or so.

So anyways, it's probably best to not actually watch this video, just listen.
