I've noticed lately, on one of my alcohol fuelled visits to this delightful little patch of internet, that a large number of the *forum titles* (as I recently elected to call them in a minor burst of genius) have next to no nearby explanation or hint as to what they might contain, or under what banner the contents are grouped.

I find this to be both misleading and uncomfortable, because even I, as a frequent and well versed user, find that often when new things appear, it is left entirely to deduction as to what the new areas are, and what I should post or find in them.

I have no doubt this disturbs new users, as well as the old ones that have gotten used to knowing where all things are, because like Foxes, they scamper off when things becoming unfamiliar, or are objects moved!

I realise that there are probably topics dedicated to each new sections, but do I really have to go looking for those in order to understand what is before me?

I think it would be wise to have an accompanying explanation like *MOST* civilised forums, but I also am aware that this will most likely be ignored on account of it's poster, who has done little to improve the forum in the past.

:P

Well screw you too!

Oil?

Oil does nothing but give my complexion an olive tint and further increase my squirminess!

I shall wave through your armies like an eel through a trench!

...The identity of the OP's author disregarded, it's a good idea. Especially for sub-forums with titles that aren't exactly intuitive, like Sub-Rosa. Heck, if the problem is just getting someone to write them, I'll do it. The lack of explanation makes this place seem a little bit... I don't know. Closed-off. As if the overwhelming attitude is "If you don't know your way around, you don't deserve to be here in the first place." (Of course, a lot of the sub-forums are well-named, but a few are ambiguous...)

*Steps up behind Lor* Of course, we must now turn to the Ghaleon Rule: Every problem can be solved by finding the right long-haired prettyboy and beating the crap out of him! And there's a prettyboy right there, sticking his head out above the proverbial parapet for everyone to see! Die!

No!!!!

Die you treacherous hound!

:vince:

If it must be known... there are descriptions for each board. They're turned off... 'cause some of us elitist aesthetes prefer to have hoi polloi in turmoil rather than the visual confusion of another hundred odd words on the index page.

And I'm quite happy to shoot anyone with the poor taste to disagree.

Or stab, maim, disfigure ...you know. I'm flexible. ;)

:)

(Seriously... does anyone not like applying their perceptive curiosity to meeting the challenge of figuring something out? :p)

Well, when I can't figure out where to post something and am obsessed with being right the FIRST time I do anything... I came here to communicate. Does everything have to be a puzzle? Or can we be, you know, efficient every now and then?

Actually, no, that was a stupid question. Disregard it. Let's just fight, shall we? To the winner go the spoils!

The spoils being the joy of ripping out Melly-tan's black heart, for use in witchery and black magic. The heart itself can be the consolation prize.

For the hug, I will need to has arms. :o

...I didn't think Ghibli would be quite the accurate representation of a being as exquisitely evil as Melkor...Howl's not even a villain. He's an anti-hero at worst.

Arms? Couldn't we hugs with.. like... legs? And kind of twist about one another? And nibble?

Then we can splat Melkor together! And run around and bite his tail!

Wolves. :hearts:

Yay splatting! Then we shall bury him under a log to be later eaten by a bear, which will be poisoned by him. And then we will no longer have to worry about bears! :^^:
