Is it possible for someone to not fit into any of the MBTI personalities?

I don't really know for sure 100% if I am an INTP, which seems to plague me. I've been taking a look at other forums, judging according to what I think might be compatible with my personality.

Maybe I'll add more of my findings on other types forums.

I noticed on one of the INFJ forums I visited, aside from what an awful green and yellow set up it was. There aren't a lot of people having long winded conversations... And many of the INFJs don't seem to shy away from using real pictures (of themselves I would assume/hope) as avatars. Which is something I would normally not want to do. I won't join continue story threads where they use real people's pictures and stuff. Something about it just comes off as creepy or egotistical about it to me. From this and a few other things, like some of the corny things they write <_<; I've decided maybe I'm not an INFJ.

I get stuck on the INTJ forum, just because there's so much to read and I find it a very amusing and interesting forum. I pretty well like INTJs, though I don't see that I could contribute as much as they seem to be able to... Though, based only on the MBTI description of functions the main difference between Ps and Js is how they decide to take action. Js are structured and Ps not so much. I noticed someone on the INTJ forum who made a very INTP sort of spontaneous statement. Also I find this of interest: There's a topic where they're discussing (off the actual topic) Socionics, which is apparently arguably different from MBTI, but they use the same letters. INTP- MBTI, INTp- Socionics. Also from what I've read of the discussion most of the INTJ dislike the socionics version (Some of them call it crap and an INTP on there agreed). Though some of the INTJs were mentioning how they would come off as INTps by Socionics descriptions.

Has anyone else been unsure or been curious and taken a look at other forums? What were your opinions of the forum? And also, as a restatement, do you think it's possible for someone to not relate closely with any of the MBTI personalities? Is it possible for someone to not have a personality?

I don't think the boundaries between MBTI types are as clear in practice as they are in theory. But I'm not qualified.

I was going to say it seems to me that personality is a continuum, but then I thought No! - too restrictive. Then: A field! No - still too narrow. Add depth = a cube! So as you can see I know nothing ;)

Now I rather fancy that Knowing Nothing is said to be an ideal state in which the personality is said to disappear, and we are born into our essential natures.

I'm waiting.

It's a shade of grey. There's no such thing as a single personality which a group, even 1%, or for that matter 0.000001%, share without deviance. So the answer is most likely yes.

I'd call it possible, but not probable. I straddle the T/F divide myself, which is anything but pleasant.
I'd have thought being in the middle for all types would be a positive thing in that you could probably fit in with anyone, or no one.. could go either way, I guess.
Anyway, whether you're INTP or not, this forum is just minorly awesome ;P

Bloody yanks.

Edit: Sorry for the hostile takeover Zero. Continue from the point before Wisp saying "Only Minorly?" if you don't mind.

I never said it was impossible. I said it was improbable. Highly improbable. For example, there are at least two people in the world today with identical fingerprints. They'll probably never meet each other, and no-one will ever know about it. But it's there. And it is; there are probably at least ten pairs.

Well the MBTI are not encompassing personalities. I understand that, but I don't want to be left with a vague notion of what I could be. I want actual definition, so I can (validly reject my parents points of views) understand myself and other people and hopefully grow from that or at least have some way to vindicate myself.

From interaction and thinking as if I were an INTP and applying certain aspects of an INTP to my way of thinking it would seem INTP is the likeliest. I read that INTP are concerned with categorizing and I thought, "I'm concerned with categorizing.... I've been taking note of everyone's MBTI." Once it's applied in such a way I realize kind of how it works... In a general way. It might be that I can't really get along with any other types as well and don't feel as at ease with them.

I think I've offended most of my FP friends for instance, maybe but for that ENFP one... What is that irrational one that flaunts around and thinks everything should be happy and silly and tries to make terrible puns, terrible... terrible puns... At least... there are types I can say I'm not, types that, frankly, are close to traumatizing me.

Fuckin'--- GEEZ, WildC, don't use your offtopic powers to hijack my thread. I'm going so F. U. Judge on your ass now. (Sorry if my cursing offends anyone. You can pretend you didn't read it.)
