Fernando_the_weasel is now Ermine.

A moments grief, if you will, for the passing of Fernando.

(this is going to take some mental readjustment)

*goes into CNS (Central Nervous System) - opens up the Drive*

*Finds the "Memory" folder and opens it up.*

*Finds the "intpforum.com" folder and opens it up.*

*Finds the "Fernando_the_Weasel" folder and right clicks. "Rename" *

*types in Ermine*

All done!:D

oh, thanks, LOR. I was just about to make a thread for this until I found this. I'm still a weasel, if that helps at all. I'm kind of tired of the identity/gender confusion, so I went with something that sounds a bit more feminine, yet reminiscent of my previous username. Besides, the original Fernando was a bit of randomness I used because I didn't think I'd stick around for long. I only wanted to lurk at first, but I guess I thought wrong. :D

I'm probably still going to end up calling you Fernando. Because I can't think of a good nickname for "Ermine".
Erm? Ermi?
.__.
Well, Ermi isn't that bad.
But, did you know, even when I first joined the forum, I thought you were a girl? Before I even looked around to figure out your real gender, I just got the feeling that you were female.

*wails* I'm going to miss Fernando!
But, okay.
Ermine, Ermine, Ermine *slaps own head*
Right. I should remember it now.

Aagh! The avatar, too?

I can cope with avatar changes by looking at the username, and I can cope with name changes by looking at the avatar. Change them one at a time, please!

Oh, well. I'll probably get over it in a few days.

i've always thought you were female too, even though some of the other girls on the site i still have to remember aren't guys. fernando seems like a gender-neutral enough name to me. oh well, you're all strangers anyway!

Heh. You need 2 more, so stop thinking about it. :p

@Decaf: There're kinda geographical constraints for some of us. Let me remember... Australia, Mexico, (just about everywhere across the) USA, Ireland, India, South Africa (not so sure), Israel (think Ra'nana) (I keep on thinking about bananas whenever I see that), Malaysia, Singapore, Egypt (not sure) and some other places that I may or may not have missed. But if we're going to do it anyway, let's meet up in Turkey :D

True, but that's why most international organizations have regional chapters. I just think that we all need to know something of what its like to hang out face to face with people who you needn't be afraid of being yourself. Even our tendency to chameleon won't be enough to keep us from being ourselves because we'll be mimicking people with mostly the same fears and areas of excitement as our own.

Maybe we just don't have the population of interested active members to do that, but its a thought. After all, we have quite a few from a number of those regions.

as i said, i'd certainly be interested in that. hell, even having a voice chat thing (ventrilo or team speak or whatever) would be kind of cool. normally i'd have the tendancy to be introverted, but i think my curiosity is winning over my introversion.

but you're all still strangers!

If we did meet in real life, what would we call each other?

Personally, I think I'd still end up calling Decaf by 'Decaf' or Agent Intellect by 'AI' - even if you all told me your real names. What would I call NoID10ts? I can't even pronounce that!

No Idiots. Derived from the (unofficial) computer user error code ID-10-t. :D

And I would demand to either be called that, or 'Tim' (for no apparent reason).

For those of us who aren't still in high school, I think we should revisit the idea of using pictures of our genitalia as our avatars. If we get used to that, we won't have any trouble with shyness if we were to meet in real life.

It's just an idea though. Take it or leave it.

Man, I really am going to get banned if I'm not careful.

If we talked over TeamSpeak I wonder if we would recognize each other without saying who we are, just from the way each one expresses and all. Finding those subtle correlations between written and spoken comunication would be interesting.

we should at least have a "not suitable for work" or "18+ only" section. view at your own risk. i'm not talking a porno area, but i have some funny pictures and stuff that some might find offensive

Yes. You and I would probably be confined there. But, damn it, I work at a middle school, surrounded by preteens all day, then I come home and have three kids and a Christian wife who doesn't appreciate the vulgarity none to much. Daddy needs an outlet. :D

Hmmm.... let's see....
It would have to be deconstructed...

No - ID - 10 - ts

No - this is an acronym: Nitrous Oxide
ID - this would be another acronym possibly for INTPness Deviation
10 - this is obvious... Ten
ts - this is difficult... hmmm... another acronym? no, doesn't seem to be... *pronounces 'ts' out loud*.. AHA!... That's it!

It would be: Nitrous Oxide INTPness Deviation - Ten Tits

I don't know why this came to me, but I just realized that all the Jungian functions have elemental parallels except our 8th function, Fi.

Ti - Titanium
Ne - Neon
Si - Silicon
Fe - Iron
Te - Tellurium
Ni - Nitrogen
Se - Selenium
Fi - :(

I bet if one tried hard enough they could construct some sort of system based on that. Just need to convince someone to rename an element to Fistium.

15 minutes later of wikipedia surfing...

OK... so I kinda wish I'd picked Argon as my name. Apparently it translates to 'lazy' in Greek. Anyone want Astatine? It translates to 'unstable' :D

my INTPness has been blown, too. but, my INTPness recoils at the thought of Fistium.
Yeah. I was wondering if there is an Erotic Periodic Table of the Elements, because I think Fistium would be there along with Pubium and Spermium. Titanium will remain as is, but will always be filled with Silicon.

So someone told me a while back that I'm not supposed to refer to people from England as British because it was as offensive as using the term Negroes(I'm going to ignore the fact that I haven't heard anyone say Negroes in the last 15 years aside from proof reading this post).

When they said it I assumed they were a big gas bag, but I thought I'd ask out of curiosity. I wonder how offensive it is to just decide that a term is offensive to another person. That actually sounds fun. I think my new politically correct term for anyone in the UK is Atlantic Islander.

Arh. Back to name changes.

Da Blob used to be Robi something with digits in it. (I'm so glad you changed it because obviously my brain refused to store the old name. Anytime someone registers with digits I think SPAMBOT! and go to delete them...)

Phew.

Dear Kawaii,

I just googled this Kawaii shit and Jesus, man, I used to respect you. I may have wanted to murder you, but I respected you as a force for evil. Now I'm all disillusioned by all this talk of cuteness. I guess I'll need to find a new nemesis.

Hate,
